ASU housing
I just saw on a board in the rush thread that at ASU, all sorority women live in a structure known as the Adelphi commons--I found that kind of odd/coincidental. Was ADPi the first sorority at ASU by chance?
On that same note, there is a cable company in LA called Adelphean electric. I always smile when I see their trucks. |
You know I go to ASU and I've always thought it was kind of humerous that the complex is named Adelphi Commens. But I believe it was because of the coporation that built the dorms. See the dorms aren't technically run through ASU. I think the girls pay their "rent" through a different company than through ASU residential life.
I don't know, but I don't think ADPi was the first sorority on ASU's campus. Mainly because the college was established in 1855 ( I think) and the chapter is Gamma Rho and if I remember correctly Gamma Rho celebrated 50 years in like 2001 (I think). So at most I think the chapter was established around 1951, so I highly doubt they were the first chapter there. I just tried checking the ASU website and found no information. Good question though, has me wondering. Brianna |
There is some controversy about who came to ASU first, but we usually claim it. Gamma Phi and ADPi turned in their paperwork at exactly the same time so they claim it too, but yes we are the first and finest secret society at Arizona State.

Really that is interesting that Gamma Phi and ADPi turned in their paperwork at the same time. But wouldn't it be based off which sorority had members first, or did they rush at the same time and therefore gain members at the same time?
Was it in 1951 like I guessed? I feel so bad not knowing this information, but being an alumna and being that I was actually intitiated at Delta Gamma ( U of A) I don't know much about Gamma Rho. Sundevil, were you able to figure out how to get your backdrop done? Hope it worked out for you. Brianna |
