Parent Events
Do any of your chapters try to do anything with parents? My chapter is planning a dinner during parents weekend at our.
It sounds a little boring so I was wondering what others do. It would be great to have a warm event where parents can set aside their concerns, interact with their sons, and possibly be able to contribute to the chapter (financially, energy, time, etc.). -Rudey |

Father/Daughter softball - so much fun! |
mom's weekend we had a picnic, a brunch and a silent auction. usually for dad's weekend we will all go see a game or something together. it can be lots of fun.

Last year we had parent's weekend and we went to a football game, had a BBQ, and then went to Deja Vu, a comedy club. It was a BLAST! This fall we're doing separate weekends for moms and dads. For moms weekend we are going to eat at the Winery and then go to a pottery making place where you can paint your own pieces of pottery and stuff. It should be very fun! For our dads weekend we're doing another football game, but we have no idea what else to do with them! Any suggestions would be awesome!!! :D

My chapter has a brunch every year during parents weekend. It's pretty casual - bagels, juice and coffee but it gives parents a chance to see the house and meet other sisters and their families.

Chapters I've worked with tend to build parent events around things like Homecoming, Parents weekends, etc. Generally a BBQ, softball game, golf outing, etc.
