Farewell, Emerge
 

Has anyone heard that "Emerge" magazine is going on "hiatus"? In other words, the magazine will probably cease to exist in the future. If you are unfamiliar with "Emerge", it was the black version of "Newsweek" or "Time" magazines, and owned by BET. Some of you may be familiar with its former editor, George Curry, who usually appears on BET news related shows.

Yes Soror AKAtude, I heard that also. One of the first things that I do in the morning at work is clip news articles and I can across that one sometime last week I believe. I don't remember exactly why they are taking a break though. I do believe that it said that many of their employees would be laid off as well.

It is a shame that such a prominent magazine for Black people could go out like this...even if it is only temporary.

I was very disappointed when I heard the news concerning Emerge magazine. I am a faithful subscriber because of the thought-provoking articles I have read over the years. I have even turned on others readers. So, it's ashame they find it necessary to terminate the publishing of this great magazine.

Has anyone read the new Oprah magazines? I jsut received my first this month.
