RIAA wants to sue
If there's already a thread on this please excuse me. So I heard a few days ago that the RIAA is gonna try to sue individuals for downloading music. Is it just me or is that WACK? I don't think downloading music is stealing. If I like you I'll buy your CD, if not, I won't. As a matter of fact, record comapnies jack artists more than a few hundred mp3's ever could.

As a whole, the Record Industry is in a serious financial bind because of all the downloading. Metallica, Dr. Dre and a few Others has taken a list of these people who have download their music through various websites without permission and sue them in court. You can sue all you want but there will be more MP3's and Napstar's creeping up and continuing the same method.

Ever heard of the Copyright laws? Downloading music for free is ABSOLUTLEY stealing.
By the way, there is another thread on the subject -- and one of the posters points out that it isn't just the "stars" who lose money, but everyone who works on the project -- from the engineers, to the artist who does the jacket cover to the guy in the mailroom. Would you want someone undermining your way of making a living? |
