Rush at TCU
A friend's younger sister is heading off to Texas Christian University in August and is planning on rushing. I was just wondering if anyone knew anything about Recruitment there as to sororities, etc and any piece of advice I can give her.

I don't know much about TCU's Greek Life, but their Greek Life website has a ton of information about Recruitment & the chapters they have there:
http://www.greeks.tcu.edu/pan_mission.asp Their Panhellenic website even has "what to wear" examples and fun stuff like that! I hope this helps a little bit! I've met the ADPi's from TCU, and they are all really sweet! I hope your friends sister has a great time @ recruitment & finds a greek home!!! :) |
Chloe 173 is right...
...the girl who used to babysit for me went to TCU and pledged Pi Phi -- she told me rush was hectic and a bit stressful but she is so glad she did it and of course she loves PiPhi (she was a PiPhI and Gamma Phi legacy but there isn't a Gamma Phi chapter at TCU) :(
I have heard from others who moved here from Texas that it is quite competitive as well and recs are needed early!! Tell your friend's sister good luck and to do a rush thread for us addicts here on GC!!:D |
a girl i was friends with until my senior year of high school goes to TCU. I heard she rushed but I think she dropped out. From what I know of her now she wouldn't have made the best GLO member anyway. my advice is the advice i would give anyone going through rush. just be yourself. if you pretend to be someone you're not you will never be happy.

does anyone know anything about legacies and how much of an influence they have there? I know I heard somewhere that legacies were automatically invited back to a certain round. She's an ADPi legacy and her sister is an ADPi as well.

well...
two of my best friends are currently Tri delts at tcu, one is a legacy and the other isn't. Of course legacy's play a huge factor in every rush process (or so i've heard) but it doesn't garentee a spot. The one who isn't a legacy to tri delt was a legacy to pi phi and she was cut by the second round (or something like that). I do know though, that recs. are EXTREMELY important at TCU, b/ my friend was not invited back to half of the sororities because of her lack of recs.
GOOD LUCK IN HER RUSH! TCU has a great greek system!:p |
