Do Not Call goes Nationwide
Tired of telemarketers calling your home?
You can visit www.ftc.gov/donotcall to add your number to the DO NOT CALL list. After October, if a telemarketer calls your number placed on the list, the company can be fined at least $11,000. |
Thanks

Good stuff
I'm glad of this. I have to put my various numbers and my family's numbers on this. Telemarketers are irritating.

Check the website for your state's information. I found out that Louisiana also has a statewide Do Not Call registery.
I was having trouble registering on the website for the national list, so I say the phone number to call for residents that live west of the Mississippi River. Well, I called it and it had the gall to try to direct me to call a 1-900 #!!! I don't think so! I'll just keep trying to register on the internet. |
I've had my number on the Do Not Call LIst=LA for a year or so. Privacy Director through the phone company helps, too.
WASHINGTON, June 27 President Bush launched a national do-not-call list on Friday to stop unwanted telemarketing, saying the last thing people need at home is a call from a stranger with a sales pitch. |
Court blocks Do Not Call Registry
Oklahoma court says FTC overstepped its authority Nearly 50 million people have registered their names with the Federal Trade Commission's do not call registry, either by logging onto the FTC site or calling a toll free number. ASSOCIATED PRESS Sept 24 A federal judge has ruled that the Federal Trade Commission overstepped its authority in creating the national do-not-call list against telemarketers. The ruling Tuesday came in a lawsuit brought by telemarketers who challenged the list of 50 million people who said they do not want to receive business solicitation calls. The list was to go into effect Oct. 1. |
If you'll kindly pardon the intrusion, I ran across some info on another of my lists on this topic.
If you would like to express how you feel about the ruling, here's the contact information. http://www.okwd.uscourts.gov/west.htm Adrienne :D |
Thanks! :D

Subject: National Phone - Do Not Call List A QUICK REMINDER: In a few weeks, cell phone numbers are being released to telemarketing companies and you will start to receive sale calls. You will be charged for these calls. Call this number from your cell phone 888-382-1222. It is the national DO NOT CALL list. It only takes a minute of your time. It blocks your number for 5 years. Please pass this on to everyone you know who doesn't want to be hassled. You can also do it on-line by going to www.donotcall.gov Also on the web: https://www.donotcall.gov/ |
I needed this..
I called while online. It only took a few minutes. I already had one company call me on my cellphone and I put their butts on blast. Nothing like having a telemarketer call and your on your cell phone and you look at it like...."I know they not calling me on my dang cellphone" oh he#$ to the naw..."

And now cell phones!! When does the madness end?!! I am sorry for venting but, it just ticks me off that somehow people end up with my personal information when I am taking every step to secure it. |
