Okay, here's the deal. Kansas City radio for the most part sucks!

Here's the scenario, the only good station in KC for those who like alternative music is soon going to have a format change unless enough ruckus is made to save the station as is. The Kansas City area used to have one of the top 10 radio stations in the country broadcasting out of Lawrence until about 4 years ago when it went top 40 for some unknown reason. After about a 3 1/3 year absence a new radio station (96.5 the Buzz) became an alternative station. Now after barely 8 months it's probably going to have a format change unless enough ruckus can be made to stop that from happening.

This radio station has been the brighest spot in an otherwise pretty bleak and depressing summer for me. If it changes, I honestly will become very very sad, stuck listening to crap radio, or endlessly cycling through my CD collection and spending money I shouldn't on new CD's.

So if you can join me in emailing djfield@entercom.com I would really appreciate it. Just put "Save the Buzz" in the subject field and type a quick note saying you want the Buzz to stay alternative for Kansas City is all you need to do.

Seriously only 3 minutes is all it will take, and you don't even have to like alternative, radio, me, or Kansas City for that matter.

I did my tiny part in the "Save the Buzz" campaign and sent them an email :)

I hope the Buzz is Saved.. a lot of the stations here in DFW suck too, so I feel your pain! :)

What are they changing to?Try the new 97.3.I have heard it isn't bad.I listen to the Rock.You can't go wrong there.Also sometimes it is hard to tune but try V100.3 out of Topeka.They are a mixture of alternative,classic and hard rock.

97.3 hasn't been too bad, it's pretty much a second choice if I don't like whats on the Buzz...however, it doesn't really play the type of music I'm looking for. The Rock :rolleyes: lets just say, that since I can't stand Metallica that the Rock and I don't mesh well. Before the Buzz went alternative, the Rock would actually play some more modern rock, but I've noticed that I rarely listen to 98.9 at all.

I do get 100.3 and it's better than the Rock, but still doesn't play the punk, emo, slightly indie rock I prefer.

I did my part for you and for Kansas City; hope everything works out! :)
