Calling all people sick of partisan bickering!

Democrat, Republican, Green, Socialist, Fascist, Independent, whatever your party.

It is well over a year before the next election and if you're already sick of partisan bickering, this thread is for you!

The1calledTKE 06-25-2003 12:18 PM

Bickering = bad

discussion = good

Hopefully the threads can and will come to great discussion

*keeps fingers crossed*

Count me in!

Is there anyone on this board that is politically moderate...or close to it? Anyone?

...and then some black or white thinker will probably to tell us that we have to be one thing or the other.

This board is hell of the contrast where i'm from - most of us are slightly left.

This board has given me the oppurtunity to learn that not all conservatives/republicans and strong liberals/democrats live up to their stereotypes.

But, occasionally and unfortunately these stereotypes are reinforced.

Well this may make me a horrible American but I am just not into politics at ALL. I know I know, I should be informed about all of it, but it just gives me a headache! I agree with some Republican ideas and some Democrat ideas, I am just smack in the middle, and I don't want to choose EITHER! :D

But yes, I am sick of the bickering as well, just b/c you don't agree with someone else's opinion doesn't make their opinion less valid. :rolleyes:

I happen to be a political moderate... registered Republican but I don't toe the line on some of their political platform.

I'm a moderate, and plan to register independent. I am extremely wary of partisan politics, mainly because I've been a reporter for nearly 15 years and I struggle to see issues down the middle. But both major parties irritate me in several ways.

Here I am :)

I'm a bit left of center, actually. Registered Democrat, but I've got some problems with the Democratic Party, on both the national and local levels.

valkyrie 06-25-2003 01:16 PM

I am far from politically moderate, but I agree that the arguing and partisan bickering gets old really fast. I don't even see the point of it really, because arguing isn't going to make anyone change her mind. When someone tries to argue with me about politics, it just makes me realize that I am so right and that other person is so wrong. :)

tsk*tsk*tsk....even in here where the ground is "neutral" the isht is thrown around and the nasty remarks are made....but yet who'll be first in line holding the card that says "its not fair - the RepublICAN's are picking on us and being ugly" -- if you preach it, then practice it --

2 snaps and a smooch on the cheeks...hope your toes feel better soon!

Come on - let's not be calling people stupid.

The big problem I have is with the name-calling on BOTH sides. There has been some intelligent debate, and there has been some preschool debate.

We don't have to agree - but let's act like adults.
