cousins...

I have a couple of cousins who were in a certain sorority on the same campus that I will be on next year. Are there any benefits to having cousins. I know its huge to be a legacy, but this isnt exactly a legacy. One cousin will be a junior next year, and the other one graduated about 15 years ago but is still really big with the alumni group. So, her name is heard a lot. Let me know what you guys think...

While it's not a direct legacy, it certainly won't hurt you at all - you'll still be a little more known in the chapter.

All I can tell you is that it obviously can't hurt...

And the one who is an Alumna should definatly be able to write you a Recomendation.

I know if I was in a sorority my cousin wanted to join, I would fight like hell to make sure she was given a bid.

Exactly - while it isn't a direct legacy, if one of my cousins went through at my school, I would certainly bring up ASAP that my cousin was going through.

Definitely get a recommendation from your alumna cousin!

Also, I'm assuming that your cousins are women that you respect and care for, and the fact that you know their affiliation tells me that they promote it well. Don't be afraid to talk that up to the sorority on your campus if you like them and think that you want to join.

Don't be disenheartened either if it turns out that you just don't click with them when you meet them. We all know that groups are different at different schools, with different personalities and different membership numbers.
