Confession

I have a confession to make. . . :(
I have been a member of Greek Chat for close to a year and although it's been fun posting. I need to come clean... Though many of you may be in shock to hear this.... Mostly everything that I have ever posted have all been lies. The things I have posted about either happened to someone I know or were just made up. Yeah...I WAS a college student but after not being accepted by Delta or AKA I dropped out. I was rejected by AKA my freshman year, so I switched to Delta, then I tried Delta again this past semester only to not make line again (because AKA couldn't have a line.) So I have come to the conclusion that maybe I wasn't meant to be greek. I posted on GC hoping to get information that would for once help me make line...but yall are so tight lipped about YOUR "precious" sororities that you made it hard for me.I have never dated a guy in a frat so that story about me being "abused" was made up, I've never won a scholarship, or any scholarship for that matter, especially not from AKA. I made it all up!!! Deltas...the reason I asked those transfer questions was because I contemplated going to another school to pledge. It hurts when your friends pledge and make it and you don't...you're left out in the cold. Hopefully, if i go back to school i can join a grad chapter. It's been fun. Anyway, this is my last post on GC.

From one sisterfriend to another, you got off on the wrong foot. You cannot go into ANYTHING with lies and deceit and expect a favorable outcome. However, if your heart is really in it, with all the lies and deception aside, there can still be some hope.

I can only speak for myself and say that as an UG, I would join forums and visit websites and hope that the magical list of surefire ways to be accepted would be handed to me on a silver platter. Of course, it wasn't. So after I was REJECTED (yes, some of us sisterfriends have been rejected before and are not ashamed to admit it) and I graduated, I figured that I could visit forums and meet memberfriends from my city and they would immediately invite me to join their chapters. Of course, that didn't happen. Sure, I have corresponded with memberfriends from my city, but I haven't hounded them. You have to earn some things.

However, during this process, I have found a home here at GC. At first, it was all about gaining information. Now, I have discovered that there are WONDERFUL memberfriends here, as well as AMAZING sisterfriends. We have great discussions on topics ranging from How Come? to discussions on Making the Band II all the way to the occasional Sisterfriend Only Question (which our mods haven't hooked us up with lately ;) ). There are also other D9 sorority members here that are WONDERFUL also, who also have welcomed us to their forums. Those discussions have fostered a sense of sisterhood around here. Through these discussions, tidbits of information is revealed. You just have to read between the lines. Old threads reveal lots of things.

I am glad that THEY don't reveal so much information about their "precious" sororities. It makes it more fun to find out on my own. Everything that I learn here and through the research that I have already done is all that I WANT to know right now. I know that God has a plan for me. He knows how much I want this. He knows what's in my heart. He knows what I want and He knows what will be provided for me. If it doesn't coincide with what I want, then I just won't get it. But I know that as long as there is breath of life in my body, I will try. And as long as GC is here, I can vicariously live out my dream.

I don't believe that anyone "isn't meant to be greek." I do believe that anyone can be greek, but you may not be meant to be a "particular" greek. Everyone can't be an AKA. Everyone can't be a Delta. But when you go in with LIES and DECEPTION, you DEFINITELY won't get a desired outcome ANYWHERE. Get yourself together. Start off with truth and GENUINE interest and try again. If not, life goes on.... One monkey don't stop the show.

Like a friend used to tell me, "You ain't gotta lie to kick it!" ;) :D

Well said sisterfriend :)

And to the original poster, you can do all things through Christ who strengthens you. Remember that, and know that before you can identify with another group of young ladies based on ideas and values that you may have in common, you must first find yourself and identify your own ideas and values. Only then can you figure out what, if any, organization is right for you.

I thought the point of going to college was to get a DEGREE, not some letters? Did I miss something?

What was the point of lying? What did you gain from it? Do you really expect AKA or DST or SGRho or my Zetat to accept you now?

I applaud you for telling the truth, but you still seem hostile that neither org would reveal that information to you. Why should they? You just dont walk up to an XYZ and say "I wanna be down, now what does this mean?" It doesn't work that way.

Excuse me if I sound harsh, but I just dont understand why some people feel that membership is something that should just be handed over to them.

I hope you find a school where you can feel comfortable..I wish you the best.

As a sisterfriend and prospective, I still don't understand why women feel that have to lie. Do you really feel that you need to be in that organization that bad! Do you really need acceptance in your life? Cause first, you need to accept yourself for you who are and what you can give to the world, not just the greek world.

IMHO :o, please take some time this summer to go off alone and spend some time with YOURSELF (Read the book of Galatians). As my other sisterfriends have stated, you've got to know who YOU are first. What makes yo tick? What are you strengths, weaknesses, likes, dislikes, habits, preferences, etc? (You get the picture). Without really knowing INNOCENCE22 first, how do you expect to be able to find a sorority that reflects/complements you?

There are NPHC, NPC, multicultural, etc. sororities out there. In total, we're talking A LOT. Are you just going to keep applying to them all until one finally accepts you? Or are you going to stop what you are doing, find out who you are in Christ, and ask God (who has already ACCEPTED you) for the wisdom to lead you to the sorority that He has selected for you?

Pathetic. Pathetic. Pathetic.
Get this message straight: NO NPHC SORORITY NEEDS PEOPLE LIKE YOU! We don't need pathological liars.

ETA: I'm in a grad chapter. And I pray that you do not try to come through my region.

I'm glad you mentioned this...You would be surprised at the people who come to us (multicultural) talking about they were rejected by XYZ. You know they just want some letters and believe me when I say they are not accepted. Its funny because our Org. is service oriented...

On another note, I am glad that she decided to come clean and tell the truth. It is easier to tell the truth than to live a lie.

Mz Destiny 06-23-2003 02:15 PM

Wow!

Does she think that by fessin' up, people are going to take pity on her and accept her when she applies for membership again?

I ABSOLUTELY cannot believe she was going to transfer schools so she can seek membership!?! That is crazy! What happened to going to school to get your degree??? There are definitely some priorities that need rearranging here!

This whole thing just blows my mind! I hope she realizes that the greek community as a whole is very small...you never know who could be reading these posts.

I think that is the most intelligent, thought out, response to this sort of situation I have read on this board to date. Very well put.

Obviously, you haven't been around (the greek world) THAT long. This type of shit has and does happen.

I apologize for the profanity. In other instances, I would change the spelling, but for mess like this....I have to use the correct spelling. That's just how pissed I am!

I guess she deserves cool pernts for 'fessing up? Whatever mannnnn!
