i have a que
I know a white girl at my school who is interested in joining your sorority. She is very scared to try, because it is a black organization, and she thinks they will not pick her because she is white. I was wondering what ya'll think about white people trying to pledge black organizations.. I keep telling her to go for it, but then again i am not a member, so i don't know how everyone feels about it.. I would like to hear some opinions..

This seems to be quite the popular topic.
I personally don't have a problem with non-blacks joining black organizations. As long as that person is willing to work hard for the organization that they pledge their allegiance to. I think its cool but, would it be as accepting if blacks were trying to pledge a white sorority?
There are plenty sororities for white people however, our purpose does not have a color it has a goal. If while women can meet the goal than fine. Once you are AKA you are my sister. WE are all sisters by God but, in greekdom she (white, black, hispanic, or asian) would be my sister. **And sorors we do have other sorors from all nationalities.** |
there is a thread called whites in black sororities (i think that's the name) anyway its in the greek life section so go check it out, you'll find various opinions on the topic.
