We laugh at jokes about the differences between males and females all the time.

However, it is likely to be frowned on if one laughs at or makes a joke about differences between races/ethnicities (cultures).

In your opinion, what are the differences between the two types of jokes? Or, the similarities?

I've never thought about that... why is it that we take gender jokes less seriously? I'd probably say it's because race has been an issue that has involved serious harm and injury...but then again, wives get beaten all the time. As a person who respects all races, this is probably gonna bug me a good part of the day :confused:

I *hate* men vs. women jokes and such. To me, they are just as bad as making racial/ethnic slurs. Their motive is to make one of the genders look bad and feel stupid. :(

Yeah but my day just doesn't go too well unless I say something about a girl being barefoot and pregnant.

Hee! :) I think some of us on GC would rather be barefoot & pregnant than working at our current jobs... :p

I am very politically incorrect majority of the time so I don't have a prob with either. I'm a 1/3 Native American so I've heard all the "drunk Indian" jokes their are so... *shrugs*..hell..I tell most of them. If you cut on someone they should have a chance to cut on you....heh...that's how I met most of my best friends :p
