Ladies- How do YOU put on lipstick?

Am I the only one that puts the lipstick on my finger and rubs it in to stain my lips? I HATE the way it goes on straight from the tube. Anyone else?

Im more of a tinted lipgloss kinda girl,
the glossier the better.. but not the kind that rubs off too fast.
but i LOVE lipglosses, its either lipgloss or nothing for me, when it comes to makeup id rather dramatize my eyes than my lips anyday :)

I havent worn lipstick since middle school when it was "cool" to take your moms lipstick and put it on in school.

Straight from the tube but I have heard of putting it on your finger first.

The thing I can't stand is lip brushes. I hate having hair rubbing against my lips. Bleah!!

I rarely wear lipstick anymore (I'm more of a tinted gloss girl :) ).. but when I *do* wear lipstick (once in a blue moon!) I put it on from the tube and blot on a tissue, and put gloss over it. So I guess it's not exactly wearing lipstick like it was "meant" to be.

I actually only own 2 regular lipsticks.. the rest are glosses/tinted glosses.

I use the new Lancome lipstick with gloss. I use the lipstick straight out of the tube and then brush on the super shiny gloss on top of it

I'm a Chapstick gal. I apply straight from the tube. :)

I put it on with my finger in the summer when I just want a light stain, but most of the time I use a lip brush and lip liner.

AlphaGamDiva 06-17-2003 12:56 PM

oh i am SUCH the gloss-gal! anything that is shiney i looove....there's this stuff at victoria's secret with 3 diff shades of lip gloss in it, and it's great! of course, my favorite color was the smallest portion, but eh. can't handle it on my finger, and i don't like the brushes, but the brush is better than gettin my fingers all gooey. and a neutral color lip-liner is a must for me, too!

i like the clear, glittery gloss, as well.

i'm like moonstar17, though, in workin on my eyes! lips-the shinier the better, eyes-the more dramatic the better!

I'm afraid it's a bit more of a production with me, LOL.

I use foundation on my lips and then powder to set a "base". I line with lip liner and then I fill in with color from the tube (sometimes with a brush, usually not). Then I blot, then I reline the outside and then I brush on this liquid sealer thing.

I don't use my fingers on my lips at all.

Lipstick straight from the tube. :)

I put it on right from the tube too. I hate anything lip related that you have to put on your fingers first -- I only use chapsticky type stuff if it comes in a tube, not in a little pot. I hate getting it on my fingers.

Usually dont wear the stuff, my lips are really bright already ...dammit. But when I do try to tame the color of my lips, I use a brush.

I'm a lipgloss kinda gal.

SigkapAlumWSU 06-17-2003 02:14 PM

Straight from the tub but I blot and put gloss over, so maybe I should try the other way...

OrigamiTulip 06-17-2003 02:17 PM

I very rarely wear makeup, but when I do, I put my lipstick on straight from the tube. Then I blot on a magazine subscription card, because blotting on tissue leaves lint, and that drives me nuts.

BetaRose: That is a really cool idea! :)

I'm all for straight from the tube. I like those new lipsticks that stay on all day with the little applicator and come with the gloss. Lip brushes always shed on my lips.
