When is the right time?

I did a search and couldn't find a topic of this nature. So here goes.
When do you feel that it is the right time to tell others that you are pregnant? I have heard that you aren't supposed to tell until you have passed your first trimester in fear of jinx-ing a miscarriage. Then I have heard that it's whenever you know...let others know...there will be just that many prayer for your well being to help the baby along. I myself just made it into my 9 week and am a little sketchy on whether or not i should tell.
To my Soror and SF Mothers....what did you do?

Hi Soror, and CONGRATULATIONS!!

With our first, we told family right away and friends right after the first trimester.

With our second, I wasn't sure she was going to make it because I spotted the entire first trimester so we held off telling anyone until well into the fourth month - it made time fly for everyone.

I don't think that there's really a right or wrong time to tell. It's up to you. However, for your own sake, because people do often miscarry during the first trimester, it may be better to keep it to yourself, that way you don't have to explain to everyone "what happened."

REALLY, you do what you feel is best. Again, congratulations and best wishes to you.

Congrats--Soror!!!!!
I would suggest waiting until you really get used to the idea.. My baby is now 16 months (and a joy). We told evryone really early..Needless to say everyone had there 2 cents to put in:rolleyes:

If and when God blesses me again I would keep it to myself as long as I could!!

God Bless and Keep you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:D

Congrats to you

May the Lord bless you and the precious little one growing inside of you! My Christopher is 15 months old and the light of our lives.

I told my Mom the day I did the at home pregnancy test. I told my Dad after the blood test at the doctors ( two days later). I wanted to wait the 12 weeks but hubby has a BIG mouth and told hid sister, brother, his best friends (5)...he told the world. I tried to wait before telling my job but I was SO SICK and lost so much weight...they kind of figured it out. :p

Everybody else was told in my 12th week but you have to do what you feel is best for you.

Best wishes and PM me with any questions. :D :D

Thank you all so much. Your well wishes mean so much. This is my first time ever being pregnant so i am so clueless...but i am catching on very very fast. My life partner ( i hate the term 'babydaddy') is so excited....after i took the HPT he called his mom, all of his siblings, his best friends, maybe everyone at his job and a couple complete strangers on the street. He is such the proud papa.:D I have only told my mother and bestfriend and line sisters. It's so hard to wait the 12 weeks because i am so excited!
I have been so worried about the idea of a miscarriage but i try my best to push it out of my mind. Every little cramp or upset stomach and i am ready to go to the hospital. But so far so good. I hit my 12 weeks mark on the 15th of July. So I think on the 16th i am going to wear a shirt that says "YES! I am pregnant! So keep all of your snacks and pickles locked up!":D

Congratulations and may God bless you and your family. It's up to you when you want to share your good news. I have four of them and I told when I found out. Even though I am no longer with their "father" anymore, they are the best thing to come out of my marriage. Be blessed and be encouraged. God will take care of you.

I just want to say CONGRATULATIONS!! :D

Children are such a blessing. I can't wait to have some of my own!!:D

Queencece 06-17-2003 08:38 PM

I just want to say.....

Congrats!!!

Even though I dont want any children of my own (right now and maybe forever) :D because I am much too young right now (21).

Chidren are a blessing and I have a 15 month old nephew that I have been keeping on the weekends since he was 4 months old and boy did he work my nerves and still do. I think that my sister told me when she was about 4 months even though I could tell before that.

Another lady at work was in denial that she was pregnant and I knew before she did and she told everyone in the office as soon as she found out.

So, the point that I am tryna make is, that it depends on the person. I say do what makes you happy, but sometimes people can sense it before you even say anything.

Peace
