Advertising
 

How much your rush budget goes into advertsing your events. Also what do you advertise with (like posters, banners, shirts etc)?

I don't know how much we spend, but I'm sure it's quite a bit.

As for how we advertise, Formal Recruitment is more advertised by Panhellenic, because of NPC rules we have to advertise by wearing our shirts. I know the guys at our school hang up paper everywhere and wear their letters all week as well. They make sure they hang out in the SUB Cafe, which is the popular dining facility on campus. They also ask us ladies to come to their rush events when we aren't busy with recruitment parties.

As for COB, we spend money on small flyers to pass out (and sometimes put them in the campus mail), make signs to hang up on the SUB, chalk the Plaza, and invite as many non-Greek friends as possible.

My chapter usually has a sister or two that works for a business and will let her make copies for free, so flyers rarely cost anything. Shirts can run anywhere from $5-15. Usually we don't buy shirts for "advertising" per say...we get them for certain events (rush, greek week, hayride, formal) and then other shirts just for fun.
