Does it have to be Band CAMP or Band something in general, like a festival/competition?

Ok, so here we go

One time, at band camp, I drank waaay too much Gatorade and water and we were marching and all 10 cups came straight back up. On the field. And then inside. I swear I didn't stop puking for like 10 min. I tookthe rest of the practice off! Now I freaking hate orange Gatorade.

...

I along with 150 other band members learned a value-able lesson the week of band camp. Do not get drunk the week of band camp! I repeat: do not drink on Tuesday night at a band party when you have band at 8am on Wednesday. OMG, 200 marching members were so drunk the next morning. We couldn't even do fundamentals. People were throwing up,falling down, and alot of us were still drunk the next morning. It was horrible!!! But now its kinda funny to look back on, even though it was only a year ago.;)

My girlfriend plays flute... Is a music ed major. That line apparently got old for her pretty fast.

For me though, it's still funny...

Ok, this one time at band camp (actually colorguard camp, whatever) all 150 of us girls were out on the field working on our routine and it was VERY hot so we all stripped down to our sports bras and continued to work like that (since we were all girls minus like 5 people and they were colorguard guys so they're either gay or have seen it all before anyway...

Anyways, so we're all out there and all of a sudden from a distance we hear "Left, Left, Left, Right Left" and around the track appeared all 500 drum majors of the George N. Parks Drum Major Acadamy...to take their picture, where they had to sit in the bleachers for like 30 mins with nothing to do but watch us (and most of the drum majors were MALE)... Yeah, talk about embarassing!

PS, Yeah, the line gets old...but my best friend's name is Michelle, and she plays the flute, and she had just come back from band camp when the movie came out.

Our band field was at the bottom of this really large hill, and since we all know it ALWAYS rains during band camp...there are quite a few stories surrounding that darn hill..

My favorite being from my junior year, when we (the colorguard) were doing stretches. Our show theme that year was middle eastern/egyptian music and since the guard was planning on dressing like harem girls, we wanted to put splits and other freaky moves in the upper-classman dance feature, since we had pretty much free reign with the choreography for it. We decided that it would be a good idea to stretch our for the splits ON the hill leading down to the field; you know, for the extra resistance from the ground and having one leg higher than the other, etc. So all the junior/senior girls, wearing our short-shorts and tank tops b/c of the heat, strut over to the hill to try it out. Well, we tried it and it seemed to be working because we could all feel some tension/stress. It hurt a bit (it's supposed to), so to slightly relieve the pain about 3/4 of us were bouncing up and down (which is bad for your muscles but oh well) and it um, looked kind of *obscene*....and wouldn't you know, it was JUST OUR LUCK that the DRUMLINE decides to come marching down the hill at the completely WRONG time. They all start laughing and talking about how the colorguard was "humping the hill." Apparently, they still talk about it....

Another great one was from senior year, when one of the senior trumpeters ordered a pizza from his cell phone. It came sooner than he expected and it ended up that the Dominoes guy came waddling across the field, pizza box in hand, screaming "DUSTIN? IS DUSTIN OVER THERE? DID SOMEONE NAMED DUSTIN ORDER A PIZZA?!" He got in trouble. Sad part is, he was the section leader...

This next few aren't from band camp but oh well ;)

-My freshman year, somehow, I ended up in the front line of the colorguard, on the 50yd line, for a HUGE, DRAMATIC flag feature. There was a grand pause in the music, and the colorguard tossed an enormously lofty double out of an over-hand spin and caught it when the music hit again. (We were a really good guard, now that I look back on it! A bunch of our girls went on to join the Cadets of Bergen County and other, various independent Winterguards) Well anyway, that toss was really cool, but I ruined almost every time because I had this ISSUE with tossing a double. (I was seriously afraid of the WIND...) Well, after one night of completely messing it up EVERY TIME my instructor decided to yell over the Long Ranger: "SARAH! You are ON the 50 and YOU CAN'T TOSS! WHEN are you going to GET IT?" I almost died.

-On one infamous band trip to Disney World, a BUNCH of kids got caught making out, GROUP-style (as band kids usually do) on one of the rides...

-On another band BUS ride, we were playing a game of "Never Have I Ever..." that got kind of out of control and they called our parents and everything...oh BOY did I get in trouble...(luckily, they only HEARD what we were saying and couldn't SEE what we were doing...)

oy.

Freshmen year of band camp I noticed this senior sax player. He was on cruches all of band camp!
We started dating during the school year.
Sophomore year of band camp he had left already for college. He had roses delivered to me on the field. Our director said "Now I've seen everything"
Still dating...
Everyone say "awwwww"
:D
