NON-Racial Question
 

I know that some of our sororities have blacks, Hispanics, and Asians in them
When I go to the sites, I see one pic of each minority and tons of the same girls over and over
Why is that?

I got onto my sorority about it but not because of the minority
But because we had our less than attractive people not on there and 20 pictures of our archon
[also, because i got sick of looking at her face in every pic]
So, I made them take it down and redo it because it's not fair
We're supposed to represent diversity but you have the same 'cute' girls on the webpage
And the less than attractive ones just appear on the bid day photo and that's it

Sometimes you get all the same sisters pictures on the webpage because some of the sisters don't like their picture taken. Usually the only way I can get a picture of our Archon, Luzmaria, is if I surprise her. Most of the pictures I have of her that end up in the scrapbook is her face looking ready to kill me or shaking her fist at me because I was taking a picture. But that also means I won't put those pictures of her on the web.

Personally I think all Phi Sigs are beautiful. If someone thinks that some of us aren't up to their standard of attractiveness so they won't want to join Phi Sig then we're probably better off without them (although not always the case).

I guess I feel this way because I am fat woman and I know in some sororities I never would have gotten a bid just because I didn't meet their "ideal" sister. Thank goodness for Phi Sigma Sigma and its core value of inclusiveness.

haha! Silly me! I never really noticed that before...I just thought"gee Phi sigs everywhere are hot!"

well, I know when I did the chapter website I put all pics up I could get a hold of, so that includes me(not gorgeous) as well as some "less than attractive" sisters....the pics haven't been updated in like 3 yrs so they're still up there!

My personal website, again, I put all pics up...I do happen to have some damn fine friends and sisters, but I put up ALL pics....

And my Alum website...I am seriously LACKING pictures! So, I only have a few up there...and I have no idea which ones they are....

I think its like phisigduchess said...some sisters who "feel" less than attractive don't like their pics taken....as for the token minority pic, i dunno.....

I always thought it was a GOOD thing to show women of ALL body types/attractiveness. women need to know we really do NOT care what they look like, but who they are!
