Free Mason Urban Legends

I heard one not too long ago. It said that every president of the U.S. was a Mason except Kennedy, because Mason's don't accept Catholics. I was like..uh..masons accept everyone as long as believe in some type of higher power, and she was like "nope" and I was like, "look, there are Jewish and Muslim masons" and she was like "yeah, but no Catholics." There is no point to this thread.

Check out this website: http://www.grandlodgeoftexas.org/mas...residents.html

Fourteen out of the 43 Presidents of the United States were Freemasons.

Ahem... I am a baptized (but not a practicing) Roman Catholic and a Freemason. Masonry requires a belief in a Supreme Being (God, Allah, Jesus etc.); atheists may not become Masons. It is not a religion and does not dictate how its members should worship.

Roman Catholics may join, but may no longer receive Holy Communion and may run the risk of excommunication. Though the Roman Catholics do have the Knights of Columbus...

So you're calling a 'MURRAY!' on OP, then? :) (A MURRAY!, according to the folks on edodo.org (the Air Force Academy cadet underground humor website) is when someone posts another thread on a topic already under discussion.)

I think the rules are posted under the GC drinking game thread. It's buried way deep in the bowels of the 'Chit Chat' forum and searching for it I've had no luck. :(
