Hey Torontonians! What Happened to Kiss 92.5???
 

I didn't go to work today, so I didn't listen to the radio. I usually listen to kiss 92.5 (even though I hate Mad Dog and Billie) all day at work. So I was doing the dishes on my day off and I turn on te radio and Kiss 92 is no where to be found. Instead it's Jack FM. What the hell happened? Where did it go? It was there yesterday!

I am guessing that KISS 92.5 got SARS and died off.

Hey you should know by now that at least one station a year goes under "alterations" to appeal to a new demographic. It looks like it went from crap (no offense) to even crapier. One of the guys cousins was a DJ at KISS.... I'll ask him this weekend.

That's exactly what happened to our KISS FM in Vancouver - it turned into Jack FM. But it's not a half bad station - but it hasn't made me listening to my fave station - Rock 101

I hated KISS, especially the morning show, but I didn't mid it when they actually played music. I was just surprised, because there were here yesterday and gone today. I was surprised because it was so sudden.

I'm guessing KISS in Vancouver and Calgary were also owned by Rogers?

Yeah, I'm not crazy about JACK FM either. I've switched to Flow 93.5 here, the urban music station. I actually like it much better. it's either that or Edge 102. There are a lot of stations in Toronto, I just don't have the patience to go through the entire dial.

I read something about that in the Metro paper yesterday. They pulled a 1050 chum and just pulled it off the air without any warning. They've done that to 92.5 a few times. Not quite sure why. Remember it was 'new country' for a while? Before that it was oldies or something along those lines...

Look'n like the Edge is pretty much all there is left out there that's not oldies or retro garbage.

Wonder where Maddog is going to go. Is there another season of Popstars planned ;) .

Sounds exactly what happened to former Atlanta 97.1 oldies and now Cool 105.7!! They waited for the morning show to be over and, boom, the Friday the 13th, actually the 31st, strike!

There was such an uproar that now Randy and Spiff are...geee..the new morning guys at 105.7!!

It was kinda weird that Friday..if you clicked on, you got Houston, Honollulu, Orlando..and other stations owned by the same guys. Over at 105.7, JJ put together a Beatles weekend and cranked up Monday with oldies....

Bit of trivia...JJ (and Stacia Kelly -- Emmitt the Clown's daughter) got bumped off 97.1 for...yes..you got it..R&S!! When R&S moved to Cool, JJ got bumped to the afternoon shift!!

Soo..stay tuned...Maddog might be around the corner in 3 months.

Jack FM in Vancouver couldn't have planned the switch any better then they did. Don't know about the rest of Canada's Kiss FM stations but in Vanc 96.9 during Xmas plays nothing but Xmas songs so everyone is tuned in. Anyways New Year's Day all of a sudden you have this new station that plays 60's 70 80's and 90's. I really enjoy Jack FM but my loyalty still lies with Rock 101, Vanc's classic rock station.
