Car Accidents
I was 2 or 3, but it was winter. My mom had got out to wipe the car off of snow. I got in the driver's seat; knocked the car in either drive or reverse; ran over a tree; mom had to buy East Cleveland a new tree lawn tree.
I would ask my mother for exact age but she is in the bed; she has to be at work at 6:00a.m. Share your momentous car accidents here.:D |
When I was about 17, I knocked over a street light and totalled a car while I was going to pick up a pizza during a blizzard. I'm just glad I had my priorities in order.
Other than that, I was in a car accident once where an elderly woman blew through a red light and hit me after she had been at the hospital visiting her husband. I went to the hospital (hey, we were right outside!) to get checked out because I hit my head, but I was fine. My poor car, on the other hand, is no more. Edited to add: Oh, I forgot my most recent one. My boy and I were having a big argument and I went out for a random drive at around 3am. I was on the west side of Chicago in the ghetto, and I totally rear ended someone stopped at a light. The guy was really, really nice and told me not to worry about the damage I did to his car. :) |
I got hit by a car going straight in the lane left to me while I was trying to turn left earlier today. Yup, my fault, but it was a badly marked 5-way intersection. Then the cop happens to be an alumni of my school's big rival...
(thanks crimson for sharing!) |
this isn't about me, but my sister had a friend from college who was known for always getting into car accidents. well, one night she hit a pole and knocked the power out in the entire town. from what i heard, everyone knew she was the cause of it as soon as someone said someone hit that pole..

One time I almost side-swiped not one, not two, but THREE cars in one day... it was a bad day :( but thankfully I didn't actually hit any.

I'm a bad-driver magnet. :(
- Turned into a gas station to fill up my rental before returning it. Some jack@$$ driving a hotel shuttle picked an inopportune moment to open the door. He flagged down a cop and tried to pin it on me  Lucky I had my cell and had already called 911 :p - Got rear ended because I stopped for a school bus. - Hit a patch of black ice and spun out on an exit ramp. Netted a warning ticket for that one and lost my perfect driving record  - Some biatch in an SUV backed halfway across a parking lot into my husband's car, WITHOUT LOOKING... fortunately he caught her trying to flee the scene  - My husband lost control of my car while I was in the suicide seat - ABS ain't all it's cracked up to be  Edited to add: - My husband hit a patch of black ice a few years back and hit a telephone pole. (I wasn't in the car.) Our $26,000 car saved a $500 telephone pole by crumpling first. I was driving the same car last winter when I hit the black ice mentioned above - same point of impact (driver's side rear) - that side of the car has now been replaced twice! |
Been in two.
Was in a really bad one the day before high school graduation - two of my windows exploded, my car got thrown a bit (and it was a station wagon, that lets you know how big the crash was). Thank God I wasn't hurt. The second wasn't so bad, a fender bender, but boy do those accidents suck. |
My mom was driving in Lake George with the three girls. I have two younger sisters. A priest hit us. He was nice and blessed us. No one was hurt thank God. :)

I ran into my folks garage door. egad.:o
small hijack I read an recent article about bad driving habits and it said that 14% of people admitted to READING behind the wheel. *cough*CT4*cough* J/K |

Strangely enough, the WORST accident I've ever been in actually wasn't my fault. This girl I used to be friends with in HS was driving us in her Montero down a gravel road going about 75 and she was swerving from one side of the road to the other. Needless to say, the car spun out of control and rolled three times into a beanfield! I had a shattered wrist (it was gross my whole arm turned a horrid shade of black and purple, yech!), thousands of brusies, cuts all over my arms, legs, and face, a concussion, and gravel stuck in my head from the sunroof being open and my head hitting the ground. Youch, now THAT was a bad wreck. |
Back at home, my neighborhood has a huge metal gate at the exit of the neighborhood. I had just gotten my drivers license and I was still trying to perfect my driving skills. I was coming up to the gate and I didn't slow down enough. I hit the gate.
For 6 hours, nobody could get out of the neighborhood because I thrown the gate off track and they couldn't get it to open. The worst part.....I did a hit and run. As soon as I hit the gate, I threw the car in reverse and drove back home. I did almost get caught when my father got home and asked why the front of the car had scrapes on it. I acted all innocent so he just figured someone probably hit it in a parking lot. To this day, nobody knows that it was me who locked everyone in the neighborhood for 6 hours. |

when i was 18, (summer of 2000) i was riding home with my sister and best friend from church. we were in my friend's dad's truck. while we were approaching this intersection, i was fiddling with this tape recorder cause we had taped the night's church service. i was looking down when i suddenly heard my friend make this gut wrenching scream. my head shot up just in time to see her t bone this car that was making this left turn. we hit the car right in the passenger side. the truck we were in did a 180 degree turn. the air bags came out and we were stuck in the truck cause the door jammed. the smell of burnt rubber and gas filled the air. due to the small size, the car that we hit was totaled. my friend, my sister, and i were able to kick the doors open. that is when we saw the car that we hit. we lost it. there was a guy in the passenger seat that we found out was a visitor from another country. he died on impact. the driver had a broken leg and rib. how were we? we just got bruises and cuts...lucky us:mad: my friend went through shock, depression, and guilt for what felt like forever and had to fight it in court for the next year. she was found not guilty. it was an experience i will never forget. it happened all because i told my friend to take a certain way home.
