alphagam.net updates

Hey! Elise hasn't been here (at least under her original GC name). The roll call of Greek orgs at the different campuses got me thinking. I looked on www.alphagam.net and the last chapter added was in 2001.

It didn't show Univ of West Florida (Theta Lamda) or Chapman (sorry, forgot the chapter name :) ). It had Tampa (Theta Phi) and Barry (Theta Rho)...not sure who else is missing.

I don't post there as much as I used to but I reallllly appreciate Elise's and Chantal's hard work!! Not sure if they have passed the reins to someone else.

I'm sure that keeping alphagam.net up and running is a huge amount of work. There are lots of resources on that site that are useful (like if a chapter or JC wants to do a webpage).

I don't know why more people don't use it--maybe its because Greek Chat has such a huge Alpha Gam community? It seems like just about every Alpha Gam who's online ends up here! lol

I think the eventual plan that IHQ has in store for the website is for the private side to have bulletin boards a la GC. Right now, I'd just be happy for a chat room that doesn't blink! ;)

(PS: Chapman is Delta Tau.)

alphagam.net has the most members of any Alpha Gam yahoo group out there. Their mailing list at yahoo groups has 708 members! I only see one message posted. But I think that is a great indicator of all of the Alpha Gams out there looking for a way to communicate.

If the owner's of alphagam.net ever needed some volunteer assistance I would be happy to help!

Maybe it's like other posts/guestbooks....people won't leave a post/guestbook entry if others don't.....:

I think the alphagam.net Yahoo group was supposed to be for their newsletter, but they haven't sent one in a couple of years (they used to be done on a fairly regular basis). I think the last message that was sent was from Elise and she was looking for volunteers. It would be nice to see alphagam.net up and running again, because it really is a good resource.
