This is a bit of an old thread, but it still stands out to me as being pretty funny!

One of my sisters (I'll call her Jane) cut DG after second round (of three). In that round, they did a skit and then showed the PNM's all their cute DG paraphernalia. Her host pulled out her Hannah doll and Jane almost ran away screaming...she is TERRIFIED of clowns and anything that resembles them. That night, she cut them.

Even though I didn't cut anyone for bad reasons (well, I cut one sorority b/c there was one girl in it that I couldn't stand, and she ended up dropping later on, anyway...) I have a confession to make... to the girl who said that the DG anchor/sailor thing was a bit too much (we don't wear sailor hats at my chapter... they used to, but not anymore).. I'm deathly afraid of our Hannah dolls. They are EVERYWHERE in our chapter room! When we were first new members, we used to call her "psycho doll" because she was like Chuckie... just kind of appeared at the corner of pictures and stuff... YIKES!!! Well, as I pledged and learned the meaning, I fear her a little less, though I do admit, there are only two Hannah dolls in my room (mine and my roommate's), and I use mine to freak my roommate out late at night. I've done it to her so many times, but she's still scared to death when I peek it over the side of the bunk at her. Fun times, DG!

I like Hannah, I don't think she is scary at all! Didn't any of you play with dolls when you were a little girl? Everyone in my house gets a Hannah doll from their big sis, and this one big sis got her little a gigantic Hannah i am talking like 3 feet tall, it was a little scary like any other doll that is that size but we all joke and say it is Hannah on steroriods! No one is scared of her! In fact i have never heard anyone not liking Hannah or the anchor. In fact many girls really like that about our house during rush and always tell us how they want an anchor for their wall as well!

hehe, I love our Hannah! I bought one right after I started pledging and she sits on my bed with pride! :D

I love Hannah too, especially the one my big sis gave me. When I was little I had a watercolor painting of Raggedy Ann that my grandmother had done. She must have known that I was destined to be a Delta Gamma!

I'll have to admit that some Hannahs do look downright scary. Take this one for instance! :eek:

The eyes look really scary...! those are the Hannah Dolls that they sell at our Greek store. Where can you get a decent, normal looking Hannah...im still trying to find a cute one, because I refuse to buy that one.

Ok, in my defense, Hannah dolls are EVERYWHERE in our chapter room and on our hall. If they were just one or two per girl, that would be fine by me, but they seem to appear EVERYWHERE. (Have I said that they're EVERYWHERE, yet?). Anyway, like I said, I appreciate it a little more... then again, there are no longer Hannah dolls in my room, mine is safely in my bedroom closet at my parents' house.:)

Hahaha - that was one of the things my big sis gave me for big/lil. I was like uhm? Are you trying to scare me away or something?

My DG family passed down a hannah doll from big to little. (But it's now lost because my little dropped. =( ) My big later confessed that she gave the hannah doll to me because it creeped her out. When I told her I kept it on my bedpost, she said, "Yeah, put it under your bed. It'll give you nightmares."

I would never have thought people were so uncomfortable near/around a Hannah doll! Yikes.

We have one GIANT hannah doll that sits in our chapter room. Other than that I haven't seen a lot of them...some of the bigs give their little sisters hannah dolls but its not very common.
My grandma is currently making me an old school Hannah doll- the one with blonde pigtails and the sailor hat, I'm so excited to get it! haha

Oh, my gosh, this is so funny that this got brought back up. I've been out of college for 4 years, and the roommate that I used to freak out was my roommate my sophomore/junior year! :-)

Too funny! I think it depends on the Hannah. Ours just popped up randomly everywhere, it was really freaky. We were a little Hannah-obsessed b/c we didn't use sailor hats like most other chapters. I think we just filled in the sailor hat void with more Hannahs!

That's hilarious. My chapter doesn't really even use Hannah at all because she freaks people out.
