question?
I've gotta ? Has anyone ever tried to put together an event with another chapter of adpi in the area??? i thought it would be an awesome idea to meet other adpi's from the state, but our province director vetoed the idea.... she mentioned something about out of town "parties" not being an option. is there any way around this and does anyone have any good ideas for events we could host with other chapters??
Alpha Delta Pi o and it's my first time here...i'm kelly from eta nu chapter at st. louis university...nice to meet you all! :) |
What type of party are you meaning? I've known of chapters getting together for rush clinics or such, but not a "mixer" type party. If there be alcohol involved, there would have the proper arrangements made. I would ask for the reasoning behind not getting together; it may be a very good reason that I'm not considering just now.

You can have a GREAT ADPi event with another local ADPi chapter
During Spirit Week, invite another ADPi chapter in the area over to your house for a mock recruitment party-- you both take turns "rushing" each other, and end with a Pride Activity like roller skating, tea, or lunch!
TME Workshop! Invite a local ADPi chapter to your house for a pizza party and co-host a TME Workshop. Invite your area alumnae, too! Summer-Time Pride!: Host a Pride Picnic at the beach with lots of fun sisterhood activities like a cookout, volleyball and getting to know you games. Create a fun name, this can be an annual tradition. Look in past issues of the Adelphean for chapter updates-- chapters get together all the time to share fun sisterhood events. Just remember, there's no getting around our Out-Of-Town Parties Policy and protect yourself and your sisters-- no alcohol at these ADPi sisterhood events. Good luck and share those ideas with your province director! We Live For Each Other :) |
I was thinking about just a "get together" type thing; just a bunch of girls going out to eat and doing something fun after. i think that the province director is just worried that there would be alcohol involved and something bad could happen. it would just be a good way to get adpi's from all over to meet eachother and have a good time.
o yea, got another question...i'm a dork...how do you type greek letters??? especially ours. thanks! |
I think it sounds like a great idea, but since your province director vetoed the idea and theirs no real alcohol involved and it's not official, it sounds like it would be something you would have to put together yourself.
Like I know our alumnea association they have a website and they plan events, like lunches and stuff. Nothing official with adpi, it's just sisters getting together for lunch. Maybe you should contact your alumnea association and try to get their help. Include the alum (because they are just as important as the collegians) and collegians together. Good Luck. Brianna |
SLUadpi answer to your question about typing the letters. I only know how to type them in word. You have to use the font of "symbol", caps lock, then the "A" will do the "A", "D" will to the delta and "P" will do the pi. I discovered this one day while I was really bored on my computer. Hopefully this will help you out.

Another way to get area chapters together is to co-host a philanthropy project. It not only helps build chapter relations but is a great way to increase involment and community awareness. As far as the letters go, it took me a while to get mine to work. Try searching for the topic of "signatures" or "fonts" in the general forum. That is where I learned how. I would post how to do it but I don't remember - sorry. If I found out how, I will let you know!

BTW - welcome to the group Kelly :)

Out chapter too wanted to meet and mingle with sisters from another chapter and the idea was vetoed. Something about traveling & liability concerns. It made us pretty sad that we couldn't do it. We just wanted to get to know our sisters.
