Humility

I am currently pursuing membership in your illustrious organization. I was wondering, what in your opinion, is it to be humble?
Any responses to this post would be greatly appreciated.

You're kidding on the physical appearance thing, and that screen name, right? AKA does not choose people based on such insignificant traits. Your character, grades, demeanor, and record of service to your community are what counts.

As to the first post about humility, I would stress being yourself yet being open to new ideas and new people. Humility is knowing that the world does not revolve around you, and as much as you may have learned, you still have much to absorb, if you allow yourself to soak it up.

I am not an AKA or anything, but all I have to say to this post is WOW. Why do I have a feeling this is not real? Either that or she is REALLY new to the greek system. Just WOW.

Oh we have so much to learn. Alpha Kappa Alpha is an organization based on service not looks. I'm usually a silent monitor but this post made me compelled to respond. I don't know whether or not your interest in this organization is based on a stereotype in which you think you represent, but take a look at all organizations and what they stand for. Take it from there when you decide what sorority is right for you. Sororities aren't modeling agencies. It's not about the outer covering but the inner being. I can't stress enough...read research and read some more because Alpha Kappa Alpha is a lifetime commitment. So while you're walking around campus and encounter a member please don't say "oh by the way I have nice bone structure keep me in mind at rush." Please don't embarass yourself with that statement in public because some words are never forgotten. I hope my post doesn't sound harsh but I'm just passing along a little knowledge to help and not hinder. Also from the standpoint of one SF to another...change that name and utilize discretion. Have a blessed day ladies!

http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/frown.gif Soror Total Elegance you couldn't have said it better. I have a feeling ignorance is taking a big part here or this is not for real. The audacity for anyone to come on here and say something so ignorant and disrescpectful. My Sorors I think we need to ignore anymore replies from i wanna be a soror or anyone who does not have the common sense to choose their words wiser.:

By the way I'm not a member I am a sisterfriend that just knows better I'll put it that way. Come on sisterfriends use that God given common sense. Anyone who has researched and know that Alpha Kappa Alpha is the way they would like to go wouldn't have said such a thing. That post just made me compelled to speak. And you are right I don't think that post was true...it couldn't be. No one is that....oh well I'll keep that comment to myself. Enough on this topic because I think it was for attention purposes only.

Sorors and Sisterfriend,

I deleted that post in which you responded to. It was simply silly and had no place here.

Thank you, Soror Moderator! By the way, hope all is well with you. Haven't "seen" you around lately.

Hello, DG! I check in everyday, but I was out of town for a few days last week, and I didn't have a lot of time to post.
