Good Press towards Greeks For Once
 

I was surfing through my Universities newswire and came across the one about our Scholarship Dinner and 33girl pointed out the UIFI one

if you want to take a look at our newswire, go for it.

That kind of press coverage, which is good and positive, are what GLOs really need. Checkout Greek101's website under Lounge and they have a collection of GLO's positive press coverage.

I would like to, once again (we've been through this before), and very gently point out that there is a fair amount of good press coverage for Greeks. But, the media won't come looking. They can't -- don't have big enough staffs. That's why we need to be proactive in our public relations.

Bottom line is, if we do something bad, they'll learn about it from the police -- if we do something good, they need to learn about it from us.

By the way, Teke has been doing a wonderful job locally and nationally of getting the word out. You see a lot of positive Teke news. We should all follow their example.

I know on my campus last year we felt soem of the stuff the TKE Colony was doing was dirty press b/c they would get their name out there anyway they could. But, we now realize it's something we all need to do. So, we've started to send out press releases of stuff we're gonna do.

As DeltaAlum has said,

it is so very hard for Greeks To get GOOD Press!

It is so good to just hear a little about good news for Greeks.

We get good press when we do our Hot-Tub-A-Thon because We push it!

But, We do Western Week, and The Great North American Food Drive that is a International Charity, The Largest Food Drive in the country!!

That is the very reason that hoosier and DeltaAlum post some of the things that they do before I can!!

What this country needs is more good news and whom better to do it??:)

We as Greeks touch so many young people through our Orgs that is very impressive. We strive to make our members the leaders of the Future!

Look at the Fraternity/Soroitys to just see the Famous People Listed on the Sites, It is AWESOME!!!!:cool:

I would like to see the “Greek House” built by GLOs at Purdue. Does anyone have any pictures of the house? If so will you send an email? :) :D
