Sorority Recommendations

To our GC PM's, we've started a thread in the Alumni Involvement Forum, and there are a group of sorority alumnae who will help you get recs for recruitment.

http://forums.greekchat.com/gcforums...threadid=34355

We can't wait to hear about your Recruitment Experience this fall!

So far, here are the ladies willing to write recs for you PM's :)

Alpha Delta Pi: ADPiUCF
Gamma Phi Beta: SmartBlondeGPhB
Delta Zeta: UF56
Alpha Phi: Sistermadly AND Lauradav

Great start! There are a couple dozen more sororities we can contribute to this list, so please post if you will help our PMs with their recs.

Edited to add: Thanks everyone for offering to help! We can't wait until Recruitment begins! Go Greek! :)

What the hell...I'll write any Alpha Chi Omega recs if anyone wants them....

AOIIalum 05-29-2003 08:42 AM

In advance, I'm sorry. I'm not comfortable writing recs for those PNMs I only know casually online. If you live in Central Ohio and we can somehow meet up, I'll be happy to write a rec!

I'm happy to help any and all PNMs needing AOII recs get the info they need to get started. Email contacts, mailing addresses, contact names, you name it, I'll be pleased to do what I can to help you out.

If you have any questions about all this, please PM me. Thank you for your understanding!

Christin

Angels&Arrows 05-29-2003 09:36 AM

I am willing to help find a Pi Phi in their area who writes RIF's for PNMs.

White_Chocolate 05-29-2003 09:54 AM

please tell me that you guys will be meeting these ladies
and not just writing recs based on online conversations. . .
(speaking from personal experience)

just to be on the safe side :)

AOIIalum 05-29-2003 10:15 AM

That's why I posted what I did, because I just can't write a rec on someone I've never met. Of course, it's just my own opinion for my own self!

As I said, I am willing to help find a Pi Phi in their area who writes RIF's for PNMs.

The Panhellenic Alumnae Club in most cities has a member or two from each GLO that writes recs. If they can NOT find someone who knows the PNM personally, then they write one based on resume and transcript. I see nothing wrong with that...

Some PNMs have little or no clue to Greek Life, but are very interested. Being from the South, I know that puts you five steps behind the knowledgeable PNM with the Greek Family!

Within certain parameters, I am all for helping a young lady with her dream of becoming a member of Panhellenic.

I'm willing to help find a Phi Mu to write recs in the PNM's area, so sign me up!

Btw, just send me a PM if you're interested...

I don't know about other sororities, but on Pi Phi's RIF form, there is a space where you can choose whether you know the PNM well, more casually, or if only factual information is included. :)

SmartBlondeGPhB 05-29-2003 04:02 PM

I believe that the original posting in the Alumni Forum was to hook them up with alumne in their area who could actually write the recs. That's my intent.

honeychile 05-29-2003 09:57 PM

I mentioned on the Alumnae thread that I'll be writing my first rec this year. But, if someone is willing to get together with me, I would be happy to help her out (if possible!).

kdonline 05-30-2003 12:21 AM

As I've done in the past, I will help any PNM meet a Kappa Delta alumna in their area. :)

AGDZO Susan 05-30-2003 12:13 PM

I'd be glad to write a rec for Alpha Gamma Delta for any pnm in the Detroit/Toledo area that I can meet first.
