MIP
Hello to all the lovely ladies of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.. No one was posting on the Alpha Phi Alpha page, so I'd figure I'd come here. I have a concern about Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc.. I was thinking about going through the MIP for A Phi A next year, but this year before the SPR 2000 line crossed, the chapter was suspended (thus those guys didnt cross) ... til 2005 and I graduate in '03. I would really like to join as an undergaduate, is there any way that i could maybe aspire to join another chapter? I really think that this is the organization for me and really would like to become a member. Feel free to email me suggestions. If so please include to your knowledge about the MIP for grad chapter (general stuff). Thanks alot http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/smile.gif Madd shouts out to SPR2000 "Epiphany" if any of yall are on here

To answer your question, if the chapter on your campus is suspended, within Alpha, you would not be able to "pledge" at another university. Alpha does not allow it. It is possible that the suspension may be lifted prior to what has been told, but sometimes that doesn't happen. Your best thing is to focus on yourself and your community service to make yourself a better candidate on the graduate level.
I have known a lot of people who have attempted to transfer to another school to become a member of a GLO. That's a personal decision that you must make. However, I know some people who have pledged through other campuses and were not sanctioned to do so. These people turned out to be ghost members which is a problem within itself. Just make sure that when you do enter into Alpha, you do it through the FRONT DOOR and not the BACK! ------------------ AKATUDE - Don't Leave Home Without It! |
Thank you very much Crooklyn08, you have been very helpful. I am hoping that the Alpha's get reinstated before I graduate, however, if they don't, i have a lifetime to look forward to in reguards to a grad chapter. Also, even though I know they "pledge", i didn't want to say that because it is "ILLEGAL" and MIP is the term used for formality. Where can I find information on joining a grad chapter other than the national site, do u know any persons who joined as grads as oppossed to undergrad, feel free to email or post here.
