Theme ideas?

When school starts up again in the fall, one of our first activities that we have after rush is called Italian Wedding with Sigma Chi. Every year we switch off on who has to propose to who, and this year the guys have to propose to us. Then we have this huge mock wedding, and every year the theme is different. This last year we did famous Hollywood couples and it was hilarious. we had marge & homer simpson, danny and sandy from grease, snow white and dopey, hugh hefner and a playboy bunny, even kelly and jack osborne. It was hilarious! and the year before everyone dressed up like mobsters and flappers. This year I'm in charge of it, and I want to get started early so it will be awesome. Does anyone have any ideas for cool themes? Thanks ladies! I'm so lucky to be an alpha phi and have you all for sisters!

Somebody at my school did a White Trash wedding a few years ago. Everyone involved said they had a blast.

Something to think about

When you are thinking about themes for a party it is really important to think about how that theme will affect your reputation and image on campus. On Chattychick's campus in particular we have spent the past two years recreating our image into one that fits with the campus demographics and represents what we are looking for in new members.

While White Trash parties may sound like fun they convey many negative images that we don't necessarily want to be promoting as our chapter reputations.

I know it's kinda generic, but nothing is more fun then a toga party!!!!

we just had a big toga party for one sisters b-day last week and it was fun, but it kinda got thrown together at the last second. It could have been way cooler if we'd have had more time to plan.
And it's true that we've been working really hard to convey a positive message to our city and school about what great things we do. Here the words fraternity or sorority are not looked upon too favorably, people automatically have negative stereotypical "made-for-tv" images of greeks. We've been pretty successful so far of changing some peoples views but when we plan activities we really need to take into consideration how we are displaying ourselves.

I think a cowboy cowgirl theme world be cute. Or you could do an Angel/Devil thing.

That would be cute. You could also do mardi gras (minus the real reason you get beads) or mascarade. We had just a costume party...but that was for halloween.
