visitors??

I have a question, and I really hope this doesn't come across as being rude, because that certianly is not my intent....You can ask anyone I talk to on a reg. basis, I'm not a rude person :-) Anyways, what brings the non-dgs to the dg forum? It just seems odd to me, because I'd never really think of going to another board just to browse around. I went to an ADII board once because i had a burning question about what to get an ADII friend of mine for a "congrats" present, but I've noticed that we just get random people either browsing our board or piping in on our topics. :-\ Like I said, my intent isn't to be rude, I just was curious as to what makes you come to OUR board, there are TONS of forums out there :-) Or can you just not resist the awesomness of Delta Gamma? :-P

Hi Mandie :)

A lot of people browse "other orgs" forums for a number of reasons.
Many of us have friends in other orgs, so it's just a matter of making conversation; or there's an interesting topic under discussion there. (This reason draws me to the DST forum several times a day.)
Other times, some people will browse there if they know a new org is colonizing their school. Sometimes people are curious as to how other orgs deal w/ different issues. (AI comes to mind immediately but there are others.)

The great thing about GC is that you can meet, get to know, and understand people from all over Greek life, including other conferences. If more people are hanging out at DG, it's a real feather in their cap!

Just my 2 cents during lunch.

hee hee...I think that's it!
Hmmm...well I visit the DZ board and sometimes Alpha Phi (and in the past I have been to AGD, AXiD, etc.)
I don't know, I guess I am interested in seeing what they are discussing? I'm also very fond of their members, so I guess if I need to find them, I know where they'll be. :D

A lot of people use the "view new posts" feature which pops up everything in all the forums that has been posted since their last visit. (That's how I found this post!) If it's something that people can help with or comment on, in the spirit of Greek unity, they do. I think that is more prevalent than people actually going to each board individually.

anyway, if you ever see me, you'll know that's how I got here. :D

Ditto.

I usually try to qualify my statement by saying " I don't mean to intrude..."

But in the spirit of being helpful I have posted in other forums than my own regarding badges on ebay, problems with similiar vendors, etc.
And now this :D

Mandie I was actually wondering that same thing today! LOL Great minds think alike :D

My thoughts...

As an outsider to Delta Gamma, I usually browse the forums that are at my school. Also, it helps when I can get information from the same girls all accross the country. Like, I brought up the Anchor Splash topic and now I am getting an understanding about how it works and such.

Also its kinda cool, when you find out that people that post on GC also attend the same school as you. It makes you curious about them and I am curious to meet them. They prolly are thinking the same thing.

As for the forum of my organization (Lambda Chi Alpha), its cool when other sororities and fraternities bring up discussion with us. Its very informative and you get different viewpoints.

Also on Greek Chat, we are all united as one. We are all Greek organizations and that is the main reason we post here. Who knew we would meet others from the same school as us on the internet?

Well...There is the awesomness of Delta Gamma as well that brought me here as well :)

This guys is so sweet. Do I see an anchor man in the future? hmmmmmmm

smiley21 05-22-2003 08:24 PM

kinda taken aback but whatever...

as someone who is going through rush this fall, i like to look at the forums of the sororities that are at my school. i am not trying to get all in people's business. i am just trying to get a feel for the orgs. due to the fact that there is no password to get into each forum, there should not be a problem for us curious people to join in. just speaking for my defense

No need to qualify! :D
I think as long as people behave themselves, non-DGs are welcome on the DG forum! The Alpha Gams have been welcoming to me on their forum...and in my city! :D

My Thoughts.....

HAHHAHAHAHHAHAHHAHA :D :D

:-)

I'm sorry if I came across as being rude, that was HONESTLY not my intent...........I apologize profusely if I did.......I was just curious. Like one of my sisters said earlier, as long as people behave themselves (which I've never noticed someone at least in this forum not behaving)...I don't mind. I was just curious as to what brought you all here :-)
I appreciate the other viewpoints and that's awesome if you're just getting a feel for the DG's :-) I appreciate all the responces and like I've said, If I came across as rude, please forgive me....

Mandie, I didn't interpret you as being rude. Just naturally curious.

And it took me forever to find that "find new posts" feature. I didn't know how easy it was to find out what recent conversations were going on all over the place.

JohnsDGsweethrt 05-23-2003 03:43 AM

Smiley21 :) You have a PM :)

ajuhdg 05-29-2003 05:35 PM

I feel proud that others drop by our forum! It makes me feel special! It's not like we're discussing secrets or rituals or anything! I say the more the merrier! I love to share my sisterhood with anyone that wants to listen....or read in this case!
