your chapter

Hey yall! I stole this idea from the pi phi girls! but.. I want to know how each of our chapters are! So we dont have the same lil problem they had... PLEASE NO BASHING our fraternity! I just take so much pride in my chapter and I wanted to hear about yalls too!!

SO, on my campus, just this year we.... made quota (of course! lol) ..A sister won miss Lander, a sister won Homecoming and another 4th runner up, a sister won Greek Goddess, and the wonderful ATO we put up for Greek God Won! We tied with ZTA and Sigma Nu for first place in homecoming.. We got 2nd in Greek week, a sister got Greek woman of the year last year, and we got student organization of the year .. thats all I can think of, but I promise we've done more! We have just been doing wonderful things and I want all my sisters to know!

my chapter is closing and recolonizing in 2004. greek life is dying rapidly on my campus

Beta Kappa
Closed in 2000 (I think?)
Dunno when they're going to recolonize, although I imagine they'll have to wait until the current system is expanding.

This looked like an interesting thread...so I thought I'd bump it up!

Phi Kappa (Muhlenberg College, Allentown, PA)

Chartered in 1992, got our house in 1995. We're still a fairly small chapter with 20 actives going into rush this year. (We just had a BIG graduating class in 2003, we're talking 20 girls graduated...so hopefully Rush will double us again this year!)

During Greek Week 2003 I am SO PROUD to report that Phi Kappa took FIRST PLACE in the lip sync competition with two songs from "Annie", and we took third place overall!!! Which is something we've never done before, in my recollection. I'm so proud of those girl this year!!!

So that's an update from Phi Kappa!

ZN,
we don't have a house (but thats just fine with us)
although i am a recent alumna, we got one under quota, and have lots of interested ladies for informal--
lost alot in graduation in may 03, so there were about 20 girls rushing the past week. I had alot of fun and i know everyone else is. we have the best ladies from recruitment :) they rock!

in May we got the Chancellors Award for Greek Excellence, and we plan on keeping it! i know when i was gone (last fall) we came in 1st with Sig Pi for homecoming (again!) . I do not remember about winter carnival.

This years theme for hc is 'nightmare on algoma' (algoma is the main st thru campus where the parade is) Sure to be a blast, and i know we have tons of enthusiasm so we'll be #1 again for sure ;)

hehe.
thats my take on zn.

I am a current member of the phi alpha chapter at Mcdaniel aka western maryland college in westminster marylad. I pledged in spring 2003 and my pledge class was one of the largest pledge classes on the campus. we are currently the second largest on our campus out of 4 sororities with 30 girls. At homecoming this year we won best letters on the hill( a competition to see who can paint the best letters on the stadium field, a WMC tradition) also we won the brant cup( an award given every year to the sorority or fraternity has done the best in scholarship varsity atheletes and community service) that will make two years in a row that Phi Alpha has won this award. I am so proud of my Phi Mu sisters!!! that's about it for now:)

Hello all my lovely sistas....
Well I'm a member of the Lambda Gamma Chapter at Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, Va. We are just about at quota of 50. The chapter is made up of fairly young girls but man have they got everything running smoothly...amazes me all the time. We are unofficially the little sisters of Kappa Sigma here on campus. Our school isn't that huge in greek life but we have 5 other sororities (of course we are the BEST) and about 5 fraternities. Our chapter has the highest GPA, we met our five star standards & recently one of our sisters was named greek woman of the year. I'm very proud of my girls and of all that they do.
I would LOVE to hear of any things you do in your chapter to keep ties with alumna strong as well as within active members. Thank you so much for your time...check out our site if you have a minute! LIOB, Deanna

Hey guys! I am a member of the Chi chapter at the University of Missouri Columbia. We have been having a great semester so far!

We started off the year with formal rush, doing it for only our third time. We got 60 girls on bid day and quickly COB'd to quota which was 66.

We did homecoming with the men of Sigma Nu and Sigma Pi and we had soooo much fun, aside from me going to the hospital after I gave blood at the blood drive!

Greek week serenades were just last week and we are SOOOOOOOOO thrilled to be paired with the men of Pi Kappa Alpha and AEPi. Pike is a REALLY strong house on our campus and this is only our third year here so for us to be getting such a great partner this early in the game is AWESOME. The boys are sooo sweet and totally cute and we can't wait for greek week!

We have had some fun socials, including our hayride and we still have our semiformal coming up. We participated in Sigma Alpha Epsilon, Beta Sigma Psi, Alpha Tau Omega, Beta Theta Pi, and Phi Delta Theta's philanthropies and placed in them! Exciting!!!

That's all I've got for now, hope everything is great with all of you girls! ;)
