Speaking of MTV. . .
am i the only one who is upset that you can't audition for stuff unless you're in the NY tri-state area?
my friends and i were going to audition for ultimate party show we sent in our pictures and they called us for an audition but we found out the audition date like 2 days before and no one got paid until the next week so you guys missed seeing me and my crazy friends on MTV why do they do that? |
That is so irritating. I've written so many times trying to get on one of their reality shows. Maybe it's good that they didn't pick me. Most of the shows say you have to either be from the btri-state or LA.

What about Road Rules? They've had an English girl on, and I know they've had a Canadian on. How did they get on those shows?
|
dude, the formula for mtv reality shows is simple....you have to be either:
gay/hot bitch/hot virgin/hot aetheist/hot super christian/hot racist ready to be enlightened/hot person ready to do the enlightening/hot slut/hot is also thrown in there somewhere....more so on vegas than the others....they were all slut/hot.....although trishelle looks like a bug with big boobs, but whatev...;) hello? duh....:p |

Tampa
I live in Tampa, and every single year I've lived here they have held Real World/Road Rules auditions at a local club. MTV always comes here, and some recent cast members from Tampa have included Melissa - New Orleans, Rachel - Campus Crawl...also people from Tough Enough, Kenny and one other guy (but I forgot his name, and I have no clue what seasons they were from). I think they go to a lot of large cities and have auditions, maybe they just don't advertise in your area? I don't think I would ever audition though, because those shows always make people out to be huge sluts/psychos/idiots!

what about being black?
does that count? they didn't have any black girls on the last season |

Dismissed rules are that you have to live/be in the LA area to appear on the show.
Why don't they ever have a Real World where the whole cast is black except for 2 whites? They always have white dominated episodes. I think this shows how our society is still not progressive. |

The cast is proportional to the population. Actually probably shows "minorities" (non-caucasions, gays, etc) in a higher percentage that they even are in real society. Does EVERYTHING always have to be made into a race issue? |

I don't think a RW/RR with a predominantly black cast would be so much progressive as it would be unrealistic. |
then, RR/RW are wrong
there are more spanish people in america than whites or blacks asians are in 2nd so why don't we have a spanish/asian cast with one black and one white;) then, they would have to put an pakistani/indian on there hell, why don't they do a cast where there is a represenative of every race .. . |
Actually I wasn't trying to make a race issue!!!! I just thought it would be nice if television stepped out of its boundarys and tried to do something a little different!
|
i honestly don't think casting has too much to do with race....i think it all goes back to those categories i mentioned b/4 b/c more so than fillin an ethnic quota, they gotta fill that DRAMA quota.
i actually would LOVE to go on the RW.....but i just don't know what category i fall into......eh. |
