Back to work again!
After four months of living off the dole (read: unemployment) when my contract job ended (and believe me, unemployment compensation is hardly enough to pay the bills) I finally got an interview for a CAD drafter position today. And the best news:
I GOT THE JOB!!! Pay's good, the commute's long (but you gotta go where the money is) and it's temp to perm! Should be starting right after Memorial Day weekend but if they need me sooner, I'll start earlier if need be! Guess good things come to those that wait... :) (hoists cold beer up :)) |
Congratulations AlphasigOU!!!!

Good for you!!! :) :D

Woo Hoo!! Good for you! Where do you have to commute? The traffic around the area can really be a bitch!
I am really lucky to be about 10 minutes away from my job and no freeway driving (I hate to drive) |
Congrats!! :)

Well... almost...
Got a call from the temp agency... the job's on hold right now because of some deal with billing between the client and their major contractor -- hope it clears up soon! At least all my paperwork's ready to go so I can jump in to work when the status changes.
Goddamnit... I hate being a f*cking pawn in the corporate f*cking chess game! |
Congratulations! Good luck with the new job.

Good news!
The hold on the job's been lifted... I start on Tuesday!
|
Great news. Congrats!

Yay!! Good for you!! :)

GREAT!!! Glad they finally got their isht together!

I'll be working as a drafter (on a temp-to-perm basis) for a contractor at the Boeing plant up in Corinth, north of Lewisville. But once I become permanent, I become an employee-owner of the company.
Being it's a defense contractor, there's always the requirement of filling out additional security forms. Shouldn't be too difficult to regain a security clearance, as I'm already in the DISCO (Defense Industrial Security Clearance Office) database -- in a previous job, I had to have a SECRET clearance for the work I was doing. |
