New PiPhi songs?

Hey girls, I just thought I would open up a thread for PiPhis to share songs that maybe have tunes that people know so we can exchange our fun songs through chapters! One we recently re-discovered here is to the tune of 'I'm a little Tea Pot'

I'm a little Pi Phi,
Tried and True.
I'm a little Iceburg
Through and through.
When my date gets steamed up,
Hear me shout,
Stop the car and let me out!

We also have some fun ones for the fraternities on our campus, since they coordinate with songs the boys sing to us while serenading. The TKE's here sing a song to the tune of 'Gilligan's Island' Theme, and we have a song that goes with it. If your TKE's do, too, or you'd just like the song, let me know! In PiPhi~ T

We have a cute "new member" song to the tune of Im a Little Teacup

I'm a Pi Phi pledge
Cute and smart
Here are my ribbons, here is my dart
When I'm done with pledgeship
An active I will be
So take this dart
And put an arrow on me

We also have a song we use for serenades:

A Pi Phi and a (enter fraternity name here ex. SigEp)
Were walking, I declare
Down by the river
Didn't know that I was there
Well the Pi Phi she was bashful and the SigEp he was shy
He asked if he could do it
And this was her reply
You can do it if you wanna
You can do it if you like
Just don't do it like you did the other night (THE GUYS LOVE THAT LINE)
Cuz if you do
I'm telling you
I won't let you do it anymore
I really mean it
I won't let you kiss me anymore
Boom boom

I LOOOOVE take a golden arrow & boom boom. We did boom boom for recruitment.

Another song we do is "Hey Everybody"

Hey Everybody,
Welcome to Pi Phi
We're glad to have you here and we mean it!
Our doors are open wide!
Why don't you come inside?
We want to know you!
We want to show you why we love the wine and blue!
So won't you come on in!
Let's Begin!
Fun at the Pi Phi House!

A cheer we do is Break & Yell:

AWWWWWW...Break & Yell
Give a big substantial Yell
Cause when we yell we yell like hell & this is what we yell
Go Pi Phi, Pi Beta Phi!

Those are really our new ones.

We did that same song only instead of "fun at the Pi Phi House", we sang, "Party with Pi Phi--i--iii!"

WE used to do "Rambling Woman" too (not so much during rush though)

I just got up to tell you that I'm ragged but right,
a rambling woman, a pi phi woman, I'm out every night.

I got a pin from SAE, TKE and KA, plus a big collection from LCA.
I got big diamond ring from Pike that I know, and when the snake comes crawling I just tell him to go,
you see I'm a rambling woman, a pi phi woman, I'm out every night.
I just got up to tell you that I'm really all right.

Out motto is meet 'em and greet 'em and love 'em and leave 'em and break them in right. I just got up to tell you that I'm really all right!

I know there are other verses but my old brain can't remember them. We used to sing it the morning after initiation on the lawn while the new sisters watched from the upstairs windows. It was really cute.

My collegiate sisters can tell you that I do know how to have fun but the above song reflects very negatively on Pi Phi. If it really IS being sung in public adds to the negative stereotypes of GLOs. Even if the chapter members don't really do those things (drink to excess/ act promiscuous), singing about it will create the assumption that those are things that are expected by PMNs. Is that what you want people thinking about you?

I know every chapter has their "basement songs" (meaning you sing them in private). If you choose to share them, *please* do it via PM, not on a public board.

If people do want new songs, the entire songbook is on the website (pdf format) for download-- sheet music and words for traditional songs. Newer parodies are just the words.

I have deleted the post in mention. This is what we call a "Da** Song" and is not appropriate in any public manner. They can be fun to sing in jest but ONLY in private and between sisters. Let us remember that we are always representing our sorority, even if it is on the internet.

I'm sure the post was made in a light-hearted manner, so please take this as a learning opportunity. :)
