Disturbed about this Fred guy.
 

Hi, everyone. I know this person is the last subject you all want to be reminded of, but I'm just a bit concerned as to who this guy is. I've been reading a few of the posts that he has written, and at first I just thought that maybe he had been dumped by an AKA. But I soon realized that his vandetta is against ALL greeks. Is there ANY truth to his claim that becoming a part of greek life is detrimental to my salvation? I don't want to pledge my SOUL to anything or anyone but Christ.

There was no truth to what Fred posted. Fortunately, he was banned from the site a while ago.

Thank God for that!

I think I have seen him posting recently on NPHC listserve and shout out central...so he hasn't disappeared just yet....at least he's banned from this site though...

well, Mr. Hatcher obviously read my post because he sent me an email last night. I was alarmed again until I spoke with one of my, ... um, ... <ahem> "big sisters" this morning (and I plan to talk to my sponsor as well) about this situation. I asked her questions that were as specific as I could make them, and she assured me that if there was anything to be worried about (regarding my salvation, that is), she would not be a part of it herself. She is a cancer survivor, and she knows Christ better than she can convince us that she knows Him. She could not tell me some things, but she did tell me things that eased my mind. She also reminded me that only what I do for Christ, whether it be through an organization or not, is what will last in the long run, and AKA can be used to do just that. So, I'm happy again. And NO ONE will take my joy.

You guys, I am happy, happy, happy. I just spoke with my sponsor, and she basically reiterated what had been said previously. She said, "Believe me, darling, one thing I hold dear to me is my salvation and my relationship with Christ. If I thought for a minute that anything could jeopardize that, I wouldn't be in it and neither would I waste my time trying to bring you in it, too." WHEW!!!!

Just remmber that all that is pure and good is of OUR HEAVENLY FATHER. How you all even lend thought to such claims. The service that Alpha Kappa Alpha provides is truely a work of love and committment. Never let your adversary cause you to doubt yourself in any situation.
