Delta Zeta will be Colonizing at ASU
 

Uh Oh! SigKapSundevil is just gonna have to learn to cope because Delta Zeta will be colonizing at Arizona State University! :) Now, SKSD, try to be nice! lol :D

Ladies,

We announced at our DZ recognition luncheon today that DELTA ZETA HAS BEEN EXTENDED THE OPPORTUNITY TO COME TO ASU IN LATE 2004 or 2005!

I now come home and share the good news with all of you - please go spread the word!

What happens now? Council does the formal thing of voting yes. ASU will let us know after fall rush (labor day 2003) when they want us to come on.

They want Kappa Delta to do well in fall rush, and they want to check their continuing numbers to support this expansion. Delta Zeta will most likely push for fall 2004, but if ASU wants spring 2005, we will agree.

We will have one advisor to walk through fall rush 2003 with their
panhellenic to get an understanding of how they do things, and can start attending advisor's meetings (once a semester). They are very supportive of starting off strong.

I understand ASU has such a fantastic greek system and I'm so happy to see us colonizing there! Hopefully SKSD's sisters can keep a muzzle on her so she doesn't scare our new members? lol

Yay!!! Congrats DZ and congrats to ASU - youre getting a fantastic new sorority :)

Its exciting to see a new sorority coming again, but its also sad. AGD is having the hardest time getting girls. In Spring Rush they got less then 10, while Kappa Delta got around 60. A lot of the Greek Community thinks that we should worry more about the chapters on campus before offering other sororities to come on. I know if my sorority were having trouble with numbers I'd be pissed to hear that another chapter was coming so soon after KD.

It's great to hear that ASU wants to keep their sororities, and even add some... If only they felt the same about the Fraternities on Campus.

OMG...I almost forgot about that thread.

As far as ASU goes, I know that AGD's been having trouble with numbers, so I think it's odd that they're colonizing DZ. Still, I wish nothing but the best of luck for DZ, AGD, and the entire Greek system at ASU!

And I really hope the SKs can get that muzzle out!

I just wanted to say that that I did not write those things about DZ that you posted from a really old thread! That was a year or more ago, and my old roommate was messing around on the computer. Neither of us really knew about this site, so she was just messing with people, but it's over with. geez, i am not a mean person, and i have respect for DZ and everyone else=)
I personally agree that since we lost our chapter at ASU, and AGD is having problems with numbers, AND KD just colonized, I don't see why in the world we would have another sorority come to our school. Not to mention that the last time my chapter participated in formal rush (2001) 6 chapters didn't make quota. The only thing that I can think of is how the new ASU president wants to increase the enrollment of the school to like 75,000 people, so I think eventually it will be a good thing to invite another sorority.

My DZ chapter colonized when another sorority on campus was having problems with numbers...that chapter closed the next year (but recolonized after that). There's another sorority that's now getting pretty small, but I've heard some people saying that the Greek system should expand because there are more and more girls going through rush every year. Maybe that was why ASU decided to bring on KD and DZ within such a short time of each other?
