I stumbled...

onto Beta Sigma Phi! In the Chit Chat section of Greekchat, someone listed their favorite websites and I was nosy so I visited. I absolutely loved looking around the website and gathering information about Beta Sigma Phi. (I'm even trying to have my Mother consider joining.)

Well, after visiting this forum and seeing my fellow sister Ali on here, I knew it must be a good thing because she is awesome. :) I have emailed asking about membership and look forward to hearing further on that. I am grateful to find such individuals that are proud and enthusiastic of their organization. I hope to join you in membership someday and will keep you all updated! :D

Welcome to GC and this forum. I'm not a member yet, but the girls on here are so sweet. They are willing to give you all the support and advise you need. :)

Good luck to you and keep us posted

Welcome to the Beta forum, Tifany!! We are an enthusiastic group, and I have LOVED getting to know the other Beta sisters on GC. Actually, when I first started posting here (about a year ago), I wasn't a member yet either. These ladies directed me in contacting HQs and in starting my own chapter. My experience has been great, and I hope you have as much fun getting to know Beta Sigma Phi as I have. Good luck and definitely keep in touch!!!

Hi Tifany,

Welcome to the BSP forum. :) I've been in Beta about 3.5 months now. It would be awesome if both you and your mother joined Beta when the time is right for both of you:D. Best wishes & keep us updated.

Thank you for all the warm welcomes! I do appreciate it so!

An update on my Beta seeking endeavors:
My information will be added to the database next week. I'm in between apartments so Jackie suggested waiting until the addresses are completely changed. I cannot wait to hear from Betas in my area!

Jill1228 05-21-2003 11:34 PM

Welcome!
They say you should hear from someone in 6 weeks or so. I heard from them in 3 weeks. Heard from 3 different people from 3 different chapters. :)
Still out of all of the sisters, I am the youngest...
(turned 36 this past Christmas)

Yay Tiffy!! We could become Sisters Squared!

I still have yet to hear anything from any nearby chapters. Is there anything I can do to find out about chapters in my area?

Suggestion...

I am so excited that you are intersted in Beta! It is a wonderful sisterhood. I am sad, however, that things have not been panning out. Please don't give up ship yet. I suggest that you e-mail Beta (you can link up on their site) and there is also a 1800# for you to call diectly. Have you checked with your local Chamber of Commerce or women's publications to see if there are any listings for Beta listed, or maybe the local "what's happening" section of the news paper? Maybe a google and yahoo search for Beta Sigma Phi + your area or state too might get the ball rolling too! Let me know if I can help.

I am glad that you are still interested! Take care!!

What cities/towns do you consider to be "your area"? I can see if these towns are listed in the Torch.

Right now I am going to school in Kutztown, which is halfway between Allentown and Reading (PA). Those are the two cities that are in the area. If you could find anything for me, I would appreciate it! I did a search and found write-ups with a Beta Sigma Phi chapter from Allentown listed, but didn't find any contact info. I believe it was a Preceptor (sorry if spelled wrong) chapter.

:)

Hi again!
Here is what I found in September's issue of the Torch.

Allentown:
Nu Epsilon
Laureate Zeta Kappa
Pi Master

Reading:
Laureate Delta Pi
Laureate Epsilon Upsilon
Alpha Alpha Master

Pennsylvania has a lot of chapters, so there may be others that are listed for smaller towns in your area. I'm not familiar with your region of the state (I'm from western PA), so I don't really know which listings are within driving distance for you. Let me know if you think of any neighboring towns that I can look for.

Hang in there! You may want to check in with the Membership Department again. They may decide to contact the chapters directly on your behalf.

Thanks for the information you gave me Erica! I did what you said and contacted Membership. They did contact chapters on my behalf, so I'm quite excited!

I wish there was a chapter in NYC :(

GL with your search!

I can see if I can whip up my Torch that has all the chapters. G-d knows there are a sh*t load in NYC
