Ooh ooh ooh

Hey there ladies :)

I just wanted to let you know, I went through pledge ritual tonight! It was so beautiful. I am truly happy to be part of such a wonderful sisterhood!

And thank you again, soo much, Erica. Dinner and the beautiful gifts were so nice! Thank you again!

I've waited 3 months/2 days for the Pledge Ritual..

Hi, Carey I'm glad to hear that a fellow sister experienced the same thing I did this week. May 13th was a night of rituals; I also went through pledge ritual then later in the evening sworn-in as extention officer. We had 3 sisters progress, 2 to Laureate degree and 1 to the Exemplar degree. Brenda, our outgoing VP passed her pledge pin down to me before going through her ritual. :D :)

Have a great week-end!

Michelle

Congratulations, Ladies, and welcome, Jill. GreekChat is a great place for Betas! Our forum stays pretty busy. Everyone is so supportive and friendly.

To CareBearBSP: I'm so glad you liked the ritual. I thought it was beautiful myself...giggles and all. I'm glad you liked your gifts!

Beta Hugs,
Erica

Thanks for the warm welcome! :D
How many are in your chapter?
What ages are they?

erica812 05-18-2003 01:12 PM

My chapter currently has fifteen members, plus one on leave-of-absence for military duty. We range from 18 (I think) to 23 (I'll be turning 24 next month). CareBearBSP is in my chapter, but we actually first "met" on GreekChat! Now she is my "little sister."

I don't know much about the other chapters represented here. Girls, what are the sizes and age ranges of your chapters?

bsp-mich24 05-18-2003 07:15 PM

We are an Exemplar chapter with 16 members (2 are less active due to school and work). :D

I'm the youngest at 36, then Charlotte is 8 mos older than me, most are between 40-55 and I think one is 60 something. Everyone else in our chapter has been in Beta for 4 yrs or more and I think 2 have been for 25 yrs. Even though our ages cross 3 decades we have a lot of fun and good conversation that we hardly notice the age differences.:)

We are a Preceptor chapter.
Michelle you and I are the same age! (ypu are just 4.5 months older than me). :D
I am the youngest too and our chapter is like yours. Many have been in Beta for 15-20 years.

We have a lot of good convo too.
And we are pretty much the youngest chapter.

We only have 9 in our chapter (8 or 9...can't think right now)

There are 5 chapters in our area and I think we have about 40-50 total in the Whatcom county chapters.

And trust me...I stand out! :D (I am the only black female in the Whatcom county chapter).

We live in a rather small county.
(Well small population wise). The closest large city to us is in another country! :D (Vancouver, British Columbia Canada). I am less than a mile from the Canadian border...if I go to the end of my street and hop the fence, I am in Canada.

Ya wanna hear more? (Sorry I am talking too much)

I love to hear about other chapters! I'm so glad you joined us, Jill.

:D Do you often hop the fence to Canada?;)

Well I drive across quite a bit! Especially since the Canadian dollar is doing well :)

Funny things that happen in sorority!

The VP of our chapter tried to choke me to death back in November! ;) She will be doing my pledge training.

No it is not as bad as it seems. :D

Went to my first meeting and she looks at me and says "Do I know you from somewhere?"

I was thinking the same thing too :)

So we were racking our brains, and she said "Do you have a kid that you take to the dentist?"

Nope. Have a stepson but he doesn't go to the dentist in the US.

DENTIST! AHA!

She works in MY dentist office...we met when she did my dental x-rays! (I was gagging during the x-rays...ie choking me to death)

at least my dentist is cute! :)

I'm always suprised when I have one of those "small world" moments!

By the way, as a kid, I had a HUGE crush on my destist. He was so adorable:)
