retromingent

Look this word up in a dictionary and tell me does it even make sense???

For those of you that will try to use it, this word wasn't found at www.webster.com.

It doesn't make much sense, but I found a definition in my Random House Webster's College Dictionary.

One time, Ben Bradlee, the newspaper editor, described one of his critics as a "retromingent vigilante" or something like that.

It doesn't make much sense. Ben Bradlee is pretty funny if he called someone a "retromingent vigilante." LOL

I'd like to see that vigilante... on second thought, maybe not.

HAHAHA!! Funny usage of the word.

Yes!!! I get the word of the day and I was soo confused! How do you pee backward? Do you actually suck pee up into your body? Walk backwards while peeing?

SATX*APhi 05-14-2003 06:27 PM

FuzzieAlum, a friend of mine told me about the word today, something about "the word of the day." Where do y'all get it from?

FuzzieAlum 05-15-2003 11:53 AM

Retromingent was the word of the day here: http://www.wordsmith.org/awad/ . (Shameless plug, the guy who runs it is another CWRU graduate.) Dictionary.com also has a word of the day. In both cases they send out a (week)daily email with a word, definition and maybe examples.

Cool, cool. Thanks Fuzzie.
