Anyone ever had to get smoke damage outta stuff

We had a small fire at work yesterday. Bad enough to get the fire dept out to make sure everything was out. It was electrical, in the insulation. Theres ash all over everything inthe back part of theoffice. Anyone delt with this before? We researched online. They all said febreeze, and bakign soda in the carpet. The smell is really nasty. That akrid burning wires smell. How long will the smell stick around?

Any advice?

Thanks.

Hire a professional to take care of this. Your insurance should cover the expense.

We had our furnace blow back in January of last year, and the entire house was smoked out. We hired a professional staff to come in and clean. The insurance did indeed cover it, and it was the best move we could have made.

Above all, don't wipe down your walls with water. You will make the carbon stains worse. Also, if your computers were running at the time, please have them sent out to be cleaned. Carbon chains love hard drives, and we ruined two machines during our incident. If you have spider-web looking things in your corners, these are also carbon chains and can be pulled down without harm by a feather duster.

Seriously, though, get a professional staff to clean up the place. The chemicals they use make the job so much easier and prevents further damage.
