Question for alumni

For all you Theta alums: how involved are you now, and are you involved with your chapter or an alum group?? If you're not involved, do you wish that you were?? Also, do you still wear your letters/badge/etc on occasion?? One more question, and I'm almost embarrassed to admit this: since I have been inactive due to transferring schools, and then alum status over the past 5 years, I've forgotten much of the ritual. Is there any place that you know of where I may be able to get reacquainted with this?

I recently went alum with my chapter at EKU, but i dont graduate till this December. Till then i'm kinda in limbo :( Being technically inactive means i cant really come to meetings to see everyone or things like that, and then not having graduated yet, doenst really allow me to be a paying member of the local alumni chapter here. However, i did meet some alum's in the local alumni chapter here during the Senior Service, and i did get on their email contact list, and i'm so excited and cant wait to officially join them in December and continue my involvement. Also, if still needed by graduation i hope to be a chapter advisor as well, and do what i can to support my chapter as an alum because it's needed and i think it shows first hand to the newer/younger members that Theta is for a lifetime and you truly get out of it what you put into it.

About forgetting parts of ritual...........I actually fear forgetting some of it myself, whcih makes me sad :( In a theta magazine of the not so distant pass there was an ad in there stating parts of our ritual would be available for d/l in the passworded section of the nationals website shortly, however beiing a frequenter of the nationals website, i've yet to see anything like that. Contacting the president of your chapter, or the chapter you're closest to and telling her your situation may help, or posting on the discussion area in the passworded section of the nationals site could be helpful too, as well as to other alum's that may be in your situation too. I'm sure you're not the only one :)

I realize this is a moldy thread, but I thought I'd chime in (new to the site).

Alumnae should ALWAYS feel free to contact nearby college chapters. They love to have alumnae visit chapter meeting or initiation. Also, if you have a local alumnae chapter, many do some ritual review at Founders Day each year. If you don't have an alumnae chapter, it's easy to start one! HQ (info@kappaalphatheta.org) can get you a list of Thetas in your area and all the details.

I've been an alum for about two years now. Throughout that time I've remained somewhat involved with my collegiate chapter - by helping with formal recruitment (when I could), attending service events, and just stopping by the facility from time to time. I also recently joined the advisory board, so I'm exited forward to continue to be a part of Theta.

I just graduated in Spring '03, and have been trying to get in touch with the Colorado Springs alums, but to no avail. I have sent emails, and left voicemails, and still have yet to hear from anyone. I would really love to get involved, so I'm a little frustrated that my efforts aren't turning out any results. My next attempt is going to be just going straight to the local college chapter and see if they need any help.
