Met a new guy

Some advice please :
I met a new guy and he happens to be really good friends with my roomies boyfriend. I have been on the single train for a while now after getting out of a serious relationship, and occasionally have hooked up with my ex.

Well, I really want to try and date this guy, but my roomate is a little weary cause she knows that I have gonea little crazy while in my single days (mind you I haven't been single for about 5 years) He is a super nice guy and I would never intentionally hurt anyone! She says that guys just fall for me (which is not true) and that I tend to break their hearts (again, disagree).

I guess my question is, how do I prove to her that I am ready to date people, more specifically him?

Why do you have to prove anything to your roomate? If she is a friend, she should be happy for you and your new found interest. If not, perhaps you need a new roomy. OK, it's late, maybe I read this wrong. Good luck!

I hate to say it, but girl you and I are in the SAME boat.
This is how bad it is for me- MY MOM even told me not to hurt this guy. I mean here is this cute, sweet, nice guy,... that treats me like a queen and we have been dating for two weeks... and he busted out the L word! So of course i am totally freaking- cause that is what I do when commitment comes in to play...
I am suc h a boy sometimes... no commitment, no emotional attachment, no intimacy... just dating and fun.
So I know this boy is worth it so I am sticking it out and seeing what happens...

As for your roommate just tell her someone as good as him could make you want to be good back to him and not treat him like the others. THat is what has to happen at some point.

i totally agree here
before 'boy' and i would hook up at random parties
his brothers told me to be careful because he was a heartbreaker
and my sisters told him that i was a total player(i am?)
but it got to a point where i would get really upset when he would talk to other girls
and i would leave him drunk mails. . .
finally, 'boy' told me that if i really liked him
i would tell it to him when i was completely sober
so, i did it
we dated and fell into 'absolute like' REALLY fast
it scares us both that we feel like this(especially sober)
and though his brothers and my sisters can't believe we'rethisclose
and to the point that we're wanting to move in together, get married, etc.
he's the best relationship that i've had
