The truth

Story:
My 'friend' has been offered scholarships to several schools to do his grad work. Of the schools on the list, he likes UI-Chicago, U of Maryland, and NYU. So, I've been researching transfering since the rumor.

*rumor* I heard that I'm probably going to get a ring this summer and he's going to ask me to leave with him.

Dilemna
So, I did some tracking around and he talked to members in his fraternity who are at campuses that if I choose to move. . .I would go to. I don't know if I would fit in with these girls. From description, they're the stereotypical girls. Super skinny, blondes and brunettes, and possible 'sweethearts in bits of ice'.
I know that I'm the stereotypical sorority girl. I don't fit well in my chapter because I'm a bit of a Clothes Nazi(I critique people's outfits all of the time). Sometimes, I can be a snob to my chapter but they've learned to overlook my shallowness. However, I know how to kick back, relax, and party. I want to stay active in sorority because I love Phi Sig and everything it represents to death. I don't know if I would mesh with these girls. Like I could end up being the one that everyone talks about behind their back or despises because of something.

Anyway, I was excited about the move but I'm chickening out. And I don't know. Should I go with my gut instinct and go anyway? Should I stay here?

First off, How many years of school u got left? I would say if only one or two than don't bother transferring, esp if you're worried about meshin with the new girls.

You have to give the girls a chance. I know I used to think girls in my division were the sterotypical sorority girls...always coming to Div Con in ritual wear, and just the way they presented themselves too, tehy seemed stuck up. But as i hung out with them at LTS and convention and they invited my chapter to their recruitment retreat, I really learned that first impressions are not always correct.
These friends you've talked to might not have all the info...I mean, I could just imagine what the frat. men back home would say about our sisters! (good and bad)

I'd say give the girls a chance...hey I'm going to LTS, you want me to scope em out for ya :p

In the end, do what's best for you! (I of course would put the emphasis on school, but you may choose to put your reltationship first)

Good Luck with your decision!

I have one and a half of school left. If I switch my major, I have two years and a summer session left.

I know that I shouldn't even listen to the guys. But I think that I'm reliant on them because he's met these guys from his visits. . .and he says that they are cool and remind them of his brothers. That's why I like these guys and I would trust them too.

Yeah, scope them out. His first choice is U Maryland. He really likes this school.

I'm just not sure. And his graduate is like 4 years plus his residency. Everything just happened so fast.

Ok, so I know this has nothing to do with the thread topic... But why would you go to Division Conference in Ritual clothes??? How uncomfortable! We all wear jeans and t-shirts/sweatshirts.

Anyways... back to the topic at hand...

<hijack>Yeah, that's exactly why we were like...whatever!?!
They said they never got the info whether or not it was formal attire or no, so they played it safe and went with formal...but like u said..Division conference is ALWAYS casual....

<hijack>

this is our problem only with other sororities
we say dress casual
they show up in club gear
it's kind of irritating
