IU article in Time...those houses would be?
On p. 8 of the 5/12 issue of time there's an article about Indiana's reputation as a party school.
"A couple of months after the ranking was announced, a porn company decided that Indiana's party atmosphere made it the perfect place to shoot Shane's World No. 32: Campus Invansion. (Students were filmed getting busy with porn stars in a dorm and frat house.)..................... "'We all got fake IDs the second we joined the sorority,' says Krissy Selleck, a marketing major squeezed into a book with four sorority sisters [at the Bluebird]. 'The party schene definitely took a toll on my GPA,' says telecom major Anna Kumis. 'But it's a rite of passage." AGDAlum |
If you do a search here I'll bet you can find out.
No use in dragging their names through the mud again. |
Sorority is Chi Omega.

I'd like to remind everyone reading this that every single one of our fraternities and sororities have outstanding members, every grade of average members and, um, people you just kind of wish would wad up a sock and stick it in their mouths

Actually
If you want to know the houses, PM me. "Stuff" only occured in one fraternity house. Everything else happened in the fraternities' live out houses. Some things happened at Teter as well (a dorm). As far as I know, NO SORORITIES were invovled in the porn scandal. As a Hoosier, I can tell you that this article is pure crap. The main bar strip is near campus, but very far from the dorms. Also, it takes more then a fake to get into the bars. The administration and the local businesses are VERY strict about alchohol policies. And those bar specials? They occur at pretty much every bar across the country. Do Hoosiers know how to party? YES! But IU is not this out of control 4-5-6 year drunken bash that the media would make it out to be. In fact, if you asked most students here, they would tell you that they were baffled when someone decided to rank IU as the #1 party school. |
I'd also like to point out that for some reason AGDAlum asked what house it was, quoted the part of the article about the porn shoot, THEN quoted two girls who were talking about fake IDS. Then later says the sorority is Chi Omega. I certainly hope you weren't trying to imply that the women quoted were involved with the porn!!!
And I am sure there are plenty of folks (from EVERY greek org and independants) who got fake IDs and had some grades suffer due to college partying. Just had to make those points. Carry on... |
I was pretty surprised that Indiana was ranked as #1 party school, I thought for sure NAU was. When people say they actually graduated, I'm genuinely surprised. Usually they have to transfer out so they can focus on school. And It's true, bars in every single college town are like that. It's unfair to just pick one one school.

I'm sure if IU was as big a party school as the media would like us to believe it is, NIC would not be holding all but 2 sessions of UIFI at IU this summer. Think about if IU was a party school they wouldn't stop for the summer, and the parties would be too much for NIC to try to control people from going to. NIC isn't stupid. But I guess the media expects everyone else to be.
