Help from other Phi Sigs
 

Hello!

I'm from the Beta Omega chapter of Phi Sigma Sigma at Portland State University. Being a commuter campus, and in Portland where "independence" is stressed, many people are anti-Greek. That's fine, we deal with it and try our best to change people's minds. However, our student paper, The Vanguard, never prints any positive issues about us (though we send Press Releases) but instead choose to only print gossipy, negative issues. Please visit:

Since we are a small Greek community here, we do send letters to the editor, but to no real avail. It would be great if other Greeks wrote letters as well (you can do so on-line) about your take on the issue. Thanks so much!

at least you get coverage in your newspaper
our newspaper will cover events that we sponsor
and forget to put our name on it

i didn't see the articles
but what i can encourage you to do is put up flyers
mainly to do a forum
so that students are welcome to come
ask questions, find out the truth, and see that it's not like MTVlife
make sure that you get a mailing list of every student in school
and maybe all of the Greeks can go in together on postage
and do as much as they can at the forum
to squash the rumors
