We need some smiles...

Hey, Girls!
I think it is great that we have a place like GreekChat to share the tough times that we and our chapters go through. I have received so much wonderful support here. I always feel good after reading your words of encouragement, and I learn from your trials as well. I remember how many times during the formation of my chapter when I really needed to read those "You can do it" and "We are here for you" messages.

I just wanted to start this thread so that Betas and prospective Betas can post the good things that have come from their journeys and their participation in GreekChat. So...including everything above, here's mine...

:) I am so glad to have run into Alison on here. I'm excited to know that she is a Beta from "back home." I have enjoyed sharing the process of forming our chapters at the same time, and I hope that things are looking up for Nu Eta.

:) I am thankful that Bernie was willing to help me through the beginning stages of my chapter. She has given me great advice and cheerful support

:) I am glad to have "met" Michelle G. She sends great e-mails, and she always remembers to ask about the important things going on in my chapter. Her enthusiasm is contagious. And I am glad that she got me thinking about Online chapters.

:) I am really happy to have Crystal in my "internet life." She has shown so much determination to become a Beta Sigma Phi. I am inspired by her patience and enthusiasm. Good luck!

:) I am happy that my Little Sister, "CareBearBSP," is on GreekChat. She is a wonderful addition to Delta Pi.

:) I am thankful for the input of everybody else here on the Beta Forum. BetaRose, tnxbutterfly, OPAGal, BSP_Nicole, and others have made being a Beta Sigma Phi so much fun just by being here to share everything! We are practically an online chapter of our own.

:) Finally, I am happy to be a Beta Sigma Phi because it feels good to be part of such a long tradition. I am proud to carry the torch! This weekend, I will be seeing many ladies who have been sisters for 50 years or more. I hope that we all make it that long!

So...what are you thankful for?....

Glad I have someone to chat with about Beta Sigma Phi!

DH just thinks I am weird (but he is supportive)
Plus I like to chat with women closer to my age! :D

Its great to know there are at least 3 other women from other GLO's interested in Beta.:D :D

Jill its a good thing that DH is supportive b/c you just may find yourself somewhat addicted to GC lol (I'm one of 2 A/A in our City Council).

I guess when I get my pledge booklet there will be info on other chapters in the US, huh?

I know when i went to Founders Day, there were only about 40 women in Beta Sigma Phi in Whatcom County (most are in Bellingham, WA)...

So do you all think our sorority is more diverse than other GLOs?

Just trying to wake up our forum! :D

Hmmm...good question. I don't have much experience with chapters outside of my own, so I can't say for sure. From what I've seen in the Torch, I would say we are more diverse in age (expecially considering legacy members), but ethnically, I haven't seen much diversity. Like I said, I haven't seen many other chapters, but the ones I have encounterned seem to be middle aged (or older) white women.

Thanks to Erica, I just happend to find out about GC under the links section from the Delta Pi chapter webpage. :D:)

I plan on meeting up with the GC'rs down in Southern Cal on 7/12/03 at Ralph Brennan Jazz Kitchen in the Disney District. I think it will be fun to meet folks from other GLOs that we chat with in person. :D :)
