Boyfriend problems

My boyfriend of two years just broke up with me tonight. I'm totally shocked that this even happened because things seemed fine, and we've been planning marriage for over a year. He says that he still loves me and will forever, but he can't be with me now. I'm lost as to what I should do. Should I stick around and hope that he made a wrong decision? Or should I move totally on forgetting our two years and my feelings for him?

Always move on. If he decided to wake up again . . consider that
then.

Moving on is so easy to say and very hard to do. I have been on and off again with my ex for awhile now and am still trying to "move on". I would say don't contact him, if he wants to talk with you let him call. Do your own thing for now. Therapy also does wonders IMO-helps let you get out your feelings/thoughts/frustrations without always having to bother your friends.

:(

If I were you, I'd take a break. Enjoy being single and hanging out with your sisters and friends. Don't worry about finding someone new right away. Let some time pass, and then decide if you want to try to get back together with him or find someone new.

Take care. :)

About twoish months ago, I broke up with a guy that I thought was the love of my life... two days ago, we decided to cut of all communication... it was too hard tyring to be "friends" and we would only make each other miserable... If you decide to move one, make sure you cut all ties... I try my best to pretend that he doesn't exist... and while it hurts massively, it's getting a little better each day... surround yourself with friends who support your desicion and won't let you do anything stupid while they are around... but you can move on... even though it feels like the hardest thing in the world to do... you can do it!!!

That's the bad thing though. All of my friends are gone. I'm living in a single apartment and know no one around me. I have no intentions of trying to find someone new. It's just hard trying to block all ties from him because we were so close. I just don't know if I can sit around and watch him live a life that I'm not a part of. I wouldn't mind being single for awhile. Hey, it could even be fun. And, lol, maybe I can find me a greek boy this time!

James, I laugh because I'm sure at one point you told me to leave him. LOL

And thanks to everyone who has left me msgs. It does help to know that there are people out there who've gone through the same thing.

erniegurl00, did you get my PM?

GC is being weird with me

erniegurl00 05-07-2003 02:35 PM

No, I didn't get your PM. Please try again!

KillarneyRose 05-07-2003 03:01 PM

I'm sorry, ErnieGurl :(

I wish I had some awesome advice for you, but I can't really add anything to the great advice you've already gotten. Just know that I'm thinking of you :)

FiReKraCkEr 05-07-2003 03:32 PM

Sweetie, don't worry. I know what you are going through. Me and my guy (on and off, more off for the past 2 years) just ended it for good. I went to see him today to pick up my things and it was really bad. He is angry at me because I ended it because I told him he wasn't the one and I didn't want to waste both of our times.

Girl, I'm here for you! Men and boys make me wanna puke literally sometimes...lol

AlphaGamDiva 05-07-2003 03:39 PM

i'm so sorry to hear this. maybe he will come around, but don't plan on it/wait for it/waste time thinking about it. this is the perfect opportunity to go out and meet new ppl! i know it's hard, believe me i know.....but you will come out of this stronger and wiser than you were before!

best of luck, girl!

erniegurl00 05-07-2003 05:56 PM

Thanks again to everyone who has shown me support!

KDatUTC, sorry to hear that you're going through a similar experience as I. My ex will be coming by on Friday to drop off my stuff. How akward will that be?? Good grief.

FiReKraCkEr 05-07-2003 06:24 PM

As to what you should do, girl....Take it day by day. I know it is really hard to think like that, since two years is a very long time to invest your heart in someone.

Love is one of the most wonderful things in this world. It also is one of those things you can never understand, no matter how much you try. If you love him, never close your heart to him. You never know, he might realize he is making a mistake.

I suggest taking some time in doing things for yourself, having fun with you sisters, and growing as a person. Maybe through that, you will see he isn't what you really need, that you need a guy who can handle committment.

oy! I need a drink.

As for me, men do not exist to me right now.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH (for those who know how I am)

sororitygirl2 05-07-2003 08:55 PM

I'm going to have to go with what James said... ALWAYS move on. I know it is really hard, I am actually quite bad at letting go, but it's true that it is best for you in the long run. Maybe you will be able to be friends later, but it is very difficult to go straight from a relationship to a friendship.

Cut off contact and hang out with girls. Eventually you will find a new love, which will probably be right around the same time your ex will decide to come back. They have radar and sense when you move on, I think!

Good luck and I'm sorry!
