question
Hi! I'm currently attending IU (go Hoosiers!), and I am completely in love with what I know of Sigma Kappa. In fact, a group of friends and I were looking at groups for expansion and in our search, we found Sigma Kappa. Unfortunately, HQ is not interested in recolonizing here at this time.
Fortunately (hopefully), I know that SK has alumnae initiation. I sent a comment about this via the website, but I have yet to hear anything. Unfortunately, I don't know any members of the sorority. I've read the Alumni Initiation forum, but I just thought that since I'm interested in just SK, it might be better to post this here. Any information or tips you might have will be greatly appreciated! |
Hi Lindsay,
It's not that Sigma Kappa doesn't want to go back to IU, it's that the IU Panhellenic has to vote to expand its system, and then vote to invite Sigma Kappa to come on. As far as alumna initiation goes, SK national policy requires a prospective alumna initiate to have a college degree, have demonstrated her interest in assisting college women, have given service in community affairs, be sponsored by two alumnae members in good standing, be willing to acquire knowledge of Sigma Kappa, and be willing to give service to Sigma Kappa. I hope all of this is helpful. |
