Bama Fires Coach Mike Price!
http://www.upi.com/view.cfm?StoryID=...3-040136-5608r
after all the flack that Coach Fran and Texas A&M recieved from those nutballs, this couldn't happen to a better group of individuals. And the curse of the Bear continues..... Kitso KS 361 times if i lived in Alabama i'd have went to auburn, WAR EAGLE |
They talked about this the other morning on the radio here in KC.What kind of a moron leaves a prostitute in a hotel room alone with the mini bar and room service while he goes and plays golf? They said that the room service bill was over $1000.She must have ordered one of everything.
|
What a moron. If he was gonna act like that, what would he tolerate from our players??? We already have Santonio Beard getting rejected from the NFL draft for being a pothead. And our team sucks. I'm glad he's gone.
And Aggie, you are making a gross (and inaccurate) generalization about the University. A school is not its football team, and you don't know jackisht about us besides our athletics. Most of the assholes who gave you guys hell after Fran left were not even students. They were moronic fans who probably have never stepped foot in any classroom outside of high school. I didn't blame Fran a bit and I wish you guys all the best of luck. |
AN AVID CRIMSONTIDE FAN HERE!!!!!
UMMMMM what does Coach Price's firing have to do w/Coach Fran? Who by the way is the MORON & A LIAR!!!! :p
If he'd had left A&M the way he left Bama, y'all would be giving him flack too!!! But as far as Coach Price goes, I'm glad they fired him b/c we really don't need this!!! I feel bad for the players b/c they're the ones who are really hurt!!!! |
Between this case and the one with the Iowa State basketball coach, looks like a lot more talk of moral responsibility going around.
Interesting time for coaches. Collin |
Has it been *proven* that the woman in question was a prostitute? We can't trust radio call-in shows about that thing, so until I hear it, I don't believe it. She did order one of everything, which makes me laugh my azz off.
Since when does going to a nudie bar lead to getting fired? I can understand the AD being upset about some woman charging a lot of money on the University, but why can't we just let a man live his life privately? Did he use the money the AD gave him to line the stripper's G-string? Unless he did, UA is making a mountain out of a molehill. If it really bothered them that much, then they could have taken care of it privately. |
to the bitter Bama fans....
i hope y'all find a sacrificial lamb to coach your team. Until then, i must refer to CDF: Quote:

For the love of God, i wish i could attend Conspiracy University like you.....or does it only apply if the person in question is a liberal? Kitso KS 361,000 more intelligent people reside in Texas than in Alabama....unless you're considering Auburn |
espn.com on the firing of Alabama football coach Mike Price:
'Drinks, dances and tips at a strip joint -- $500. Entire room service menu (to go) -- $1,000. Alabama football -- Price-less' |

First, I am not a Democrat, and I wouldn't work for the Clintons (not the Clinton's, either). But, what does any of this have to do with politics? This is football, and your irrelevant accusations didn't do anything to strengthen your point. Second, I have not read that he "violated the sacred vows of his marriage," even if he did, what does that have anything to do with his ability to coach football? We can read between the lines, but frankly, it's not any of our business, as he is merely a football coach and not an elected official. Is the first insult you can come up with when someone disagrees with you is to call them a "liberal"? Aw man, that one hurts. Thirdly, I was questioning the validity of the news you hear on radio call-in shows, I've heard the most outrageous bullshit quoted by people who believe it's true "because I heard it on The Doctor and Sam." Basically, I said that I would withhold judgement from that matter until I heard it from reputable sources. Also, most importantly, I don't attend Conspiracy University. Maybe you do. What the #$@! did what I say have anything to do with a conspiracy? I simply said that this was a private matter that the University could have handled in a private manner, instead of an attempt to moral grandstand. I believe in privacy above all--regardless of the person's political stance. |
OK...from someone who is NOT an Alabama fan but watched the live coverage of the press conference held by the UA president, Board of Trustees, and Mike Price yesterday....
The UA pres. stated that the reason for firing Mike Price was a violation of the University Code of Conduct. He said that it is a privelege to be selected for a position of leadership in the University and that Price's behaviors were not in line with the Code of the University. Being a leader for UA doesn't just mean being a leader on the field, but being a leader and representing the University at all times. While his decision will definitely adversely effect the Tide for this season I think it is definitely better in the long run. I personally applaud the UA president for making the decision he did...not because of the moral implications neccessarily---I don't care WHAT Mike Price does privately but the minute he uses the UA credit card it becomes University business...but because he stood by the RULES and policies set forth in the University Code. Several players, fans, boosters, etc. made pleas to the Board of Trustees at the press conference and it would have been very easy to cave to them. The UA president has only been around for a few months and he was hired to "clean up" things that were going on at UA. He's doing his job....good for him. 2 out of the last 3 UA coaches have had some sexual scandal....it's definitely time to get that crap out of Tuscaloosa. |
not gettin into this, but taking this thread to make my former-alabamamian, always-ALABAMA-in-my-heart stance to say: WAR EAGLE!!!!!
actually, i may get into it just a wee bit: he did something wrong, it reflected back on the university, and the prez did what he thought was best for the school by firing him. you don't want someone in your letters goin off and either being with a prostitute/skank and spending your glo's money, or being a prostitute/skank, period. if someone did that, then more than likely, they wouldn't be in your glo anymore. sorry to make a cheesie ass greek life reference, but that's how it works sometimes. UofA doesn't need any kind of bad publicity, and this guy was definitely it....so they gave him das boot. simple as that. public or private life, when it affects other ppl (such as a major university's reputation) in a negative way, actions should and will be taken. that is all........ |
I go to WSU, and while some of us here were a little bitter about the way that Price left us (ahem, rose bowl anyone?) I think people really need to think about this situation.
He never signed a contract with Alabama. The charges were on a UA credit card. No matter what you charge, it's still misuse of University funds. Feel bad for his sons and the rest of his staff. His sons were assistant coaches and they and all the staff that Price brought from WSU up to Bama all thought that they would have steady paychecks. They've all bought houses up there. What are they supposed to do now? The whole thing has been making the top story on the news all week over here. It's something a lot of people think Price had coming to him, you know, karma and all. As far as we knew over here, he was a good trustworthy family man that never had done anything like this. But I never once, in any of those news conferences, saw him deny any of the allegations agaist him, only say that everyone makes mistakes. Take it how you want to. |
Having an office with a bathroom attached seems to have gone to his head a bit:D
Unfortunately for Alabama football I think this is just one of many bad things that are going to happen to their program. Probably won't be better for a long time. |
I wonder how long it will take for the stripper with the large appetite to make her way into Playboy or Penthouse?
