Recruiting and Community Service
I am finding that Community Service can be a great way for Recruiting. I am in contact with about 8 companies that have some unique Community Service projects which I am going to implement this coming up fall. One of these projects is Frog Calling. Yes, you heard me right. This is a Federal Agency that gives Four hours of community service each month to do nothing more than go out to different Ponds and Lakes and make Frog and Toad sounds. Responses are to be logged down and submitted via fax to the agencies office. This is supposed to be a program to monitor the decline of Amphibians in the wild. However, it gives us a unique way to recruit new people. I already have 6 guys who want to participate just cause they think that it will be funny. I am billing this as LXA is seeking Young men and women of all ages to go Frog Calling. One of the guys who wants to do this is a Sophmore but is about 40 years old. Age doesn't matter. Recruit where you can, when you can. And use everything you can use to your advantage. Besides this may be fun.

Harrison, he may seem old to you, but he is a kid to me!:D
I must admit, we have had a few things like this, but my guys seem to want to do a big thing on their own! I like your idea better, where Brothers can do something as an activity, and not have to run or foot the outlay of money first up! Good Go! |
Community Service - use imagination!
I have come up with something for the Cal State Fullerton Chapter. A service club in Santa Ana, California, buts on a baseball camp for deaf kids. The Angels send a couple of players over each day and the local community college sends over some students that are working on ASL interpreter certifications. Despite this, the groups needs guys to play baseball with the kids.
Imagine: No pressure baseball, a free lunch, being with your brothers, having a great time helping kids and playing ball and hanging with a couple of guys from the Angels. I dare you to go and find something that could be this much fun. BTW, did I mention positive press coverage from the LA Times... |
