Insurance Increases
Recently our chapter's insurance has doubled. Any other GLO's feeling the post 9/11 insurance hike.
|
Not really post 9/11, but post risk management violations. We've had to close a few chapters in the last year or 2 so premiums have gone up. We are also currently being sued so our premiums will probably go up again.

OUrs just went up as well. Friggin' sucks my dog's butt.

We were a colony up til March 9th, 2002. They didn't tell us about insurance (or really how much it would be) until about 2 months or so before it was due. Was wonderful:D Yeah I'll agree though. Pretty high rates. |

As long as we have hazing, alcohol, drug and other violations -- as long as we don't keep our houses and other property clean and safe from fire and other liabilities -- the rates will continue to increase. Common sense would dictate (sorry to be a broken record), that if we don't change our ways, liability insurance will become so expensive no chapter can survive. |
Post 9/11 insurances rates, hell for my store, $50.00 more a month. Terrorist, Bull Sh*t.
For Greeks, no, Pre/Risk management. The main question is why?!!!! Well people, it is because of all of the lawsuits against Greeks because of the Hazing that has and still does go on. As long as deaths occur or injuries are inflicted, the cost of Risk Management Insurance will climb. It may eventually close Greeks as we know them! An interesting conversation topic when talking to Our Ex-Sec. (HEAD CHEES) said that there may be Greek Orgs Merging to stay alive as Greek Orgs. How about that sports fans. He also stated that many Nationals were running close to the cuff with finances because of Risk Management! It is possible that the smaller GLO/BGLO or any type of GLO will be in jeapordy. |
